 교과 과정의 [치료] 라는 과목이 사라짐.

 치료와 교육의 명확한 분리를 하려고 함.

• 특수학교 학생 1인당 12 만원 지원 (정부)

– 적립식 카드(현금카드 식)를 학생 부모에게 지급하여 다양한 치료를 받을 수 있게 하였음.

• 학교 별로 치료를 위한 facility 를 준비해야 한다고 하나, 이를 준비한 학교는 우진학교 (서울 마포 소 재 지체부자유 전문 특수학교) 정도임.

• 이 정책에 따라 물리치료 market 을 성급하게 판 단할 수 없지만, 다양한 field 에서 이 정책을 욕심 내고 준비하는 것으로 보아, 좋은 market이 될 수 있을 것으로 판단됨.

• 임상경험을 바탕으로 개인 Clinic 개원

• 물리치료사는 법적으로 개인 Clinic을 개원 할 수 없음 (보건복지부). 따라서, 이를 해결하기 위하여 생활체육지도사 자격증 (문화체육부) 을 취득 후, 개인 Clinic 개원 가능.

– 다양한 종류의 생활체육지도사 자격증 및 급수(1, 2, 3급)을 취득해야 하며, 취득 후 목적에 따라 다 양한 취업이 가능함.

Clinical Electrophysiology Physical Therapy

• Clinical Electrophysiology Physical Therapy involves electrophysiology, electrotherapy or physical agents and wound management. This specialty involves those practitioners interested in the use of electrotherapy and other therapeutic technologies as part of patient management.

The specialty also covers promotion of the use of electromyography (EMG) as an evaluation and treatment tool in clinical practice and wound management in relation to tissue healing and its implication on clinical practice.

• The specialty of Clinical Electrophysiology physical therapy was approved and board certified in 1982 by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) House of Delegates. The APTA Specialties reported in June 2010 that 146 physical therapists were certified electrophysiology specialists.

• To become a specialist in electrophysiology physical therapy you must Hold current registration to practice as a physical therapist in your chosen state.

• Have completed more than 2,000 clinical practice hours over the last 10 years, 25% of which were in the last 3 years, in that field.

• Evidence of completion of 500 electroneuromygraphy examinations

• Demonstrate clinical education experience under the guidance of an electrophysiologist

• Submit patient reports and testing logs.

• Pass the specialty exam administered by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.

• 5 steps to be a PT of USA in Korea 1. 대학원 졸업

 미국 FCCPT 라는 기관에서 미국 학생들과 동등한 수준의 교육을 받은 것을 평가 받아야 함. (성적 평가)

 CWT5 tools 를 참고하여 필요한 과목을 수강해야 함.

2. 성적 평가

 대부분의 주는 FCCPT를 따르나 뉴욕주 및 소수의 주는 자체 평가 시행함. (뉴욕주 = NYSED)

3. 시험응시

 FSBPT 에서 주관하는 NPTE 응시.

 미국 PT 국가고시는 NPTE (National Physical Therapy Examination)라고 하여 미국 53개 주의 시험을 관 할하는 연방기관인 FSBPT에서 관리함.

 이 시험에 응시하기 위해서는 면허를 취득하기 원하는 주에 신청해야 하며 NPTE에 합격하면 미국 모든 주에서 동일하게 인정받을 수 있음.

 단, 모든 주마다 NPTE를 응시하거나 면허취득 하는데 조건이 다름. 그 조건을 충족시켜야 다른 주로 면 허를 바꿀 수 있음. (영어점수, 소셜넘버, 실습시간, 인턴시간 등) (www.fsbpt.org 참고)

4. 면허 취득 5. 비자 취득

 미국에서 일하기 위해서는 합법적으로 일할 수 있는 비자나 허가서가 필요함.

 노동허가서를 받기 위해서는 이민국에서 지정하는 기관에서 비자스크린을 받고, 이민국에서 허가받은 병원이나 clinic에 취직되어야 함. 이민 전문 변호사의 도움을 받는 것이 좋음.

 비자 스크린: FCCPT에서 주관. 외국에서 대학을 졸업한 경우 성적평가와 영어능력(TOE리)을 추가로 제 출해야 함.

 스폰서: PT로 일하게 될 병원이나 clinic을 스폰서라고 함. 이민국에서 정한 절차에 따라 허가를 받아야 함. 하지만 모든 물리치료 병원이나 클리닉이 스폰서 자격을 갖춘 것이 아니기 때문에 믿을 만한 변호사 의 자문을 통해서 알아보는 것이 필요함.

 OPT (Optimal Practical Training): 미국 내 학교를 1년이상 다닌 사람에게 전공을 살려 취업하고자 할 때 허가해 주는 임시노동허가. 석사과정 또는 박사 과정 (1년)도 이에 포함되며 한국에서 취득한 학사나 석 사가 있는 경우 입학이 가능함. 미국 내 물리치료학교를 졸업하게 되면 OPT 자격을 그냥 얻게되어 취업 할 수 있으며, 영주권이나 노동허가를 받을 때에도 비자스크린에서 요구하는 영어시험도 면제됨.
