What is K- POP?
K-POP stands for Korean Pop Music. It includes all genres of music that are sung in Korean. Korean Pop music is incredibly famous in Korea and in the world as well. Currently, the most famous K-POP Group is BTS
Who can participate?
The contest is open to Ugandans of all ages When is the application period?
The application begins on the 1st May, 2021 and ends on the 28th May, 2021 How can I participate in this contest?
Record yourself or your group singing or dancing to any K-POP song of your choice. Upload it on your social media and add #2021KPOPUG
#KPOPCONTEST and also tag the Embassy’s social media. Then fill in the online application form at https://bit.ly/39MEPwa
Can I participate in both singing and dancing?
Yes, you may participate in both singing and dancing but you should make two separate applications
Can I participate both solo and as a group?
Yes, you may participate individually and in a group
Can I sing while dancing?
Yes, you may sing while dancing. However, we shall only consider the category you chose in the application
Can I lip sync?
If you chose to sing in the competition, lip syncing is not allowed. However, if you are dancing, it is allowed
Can I edit my video before uploading it on social media?
No, editing is not allowed
When and where will the winners be announced?
The winners of the contest will be announced on the Embassy’s social media platforms before the end of June and will also be contacted individually
What are the prizes?
The first prize is 1,000,000UGX awarded to an individual or one team
The second prize is 500,000UGX awarded to 5 individuals or 5 teams
There is also a popularity award of 500,000UGX that is awarded to 2 individuals or 2 teams
The first 100 applicants will receive free data after the results of the contest are announced. This will be for only MTN and Airtel networks
If my team wins and has 5 people, do we each get 1,000,000UGX?
No, the whole team is awarded 1,000,000UGX
