2021 K-POP World Festival returns to Sri Lanka with BnS & Channa!
Attention to all K-POP lovers in Sri Lanka, this is your chance to make your dream come true as a K-POP STAR! The much awaited K-POP World Festival is finally coming back to
Sri Lanka.
- Kind Reminder: All the participants must observe the government health guidelines to prevent COVID19, and violators will not be given any awards.
What is the K-POP world festival?
- “K-Pop World Festival” is a global festival for participants who are enthusiastic about K-Pop, which is co-hosted by the Korean Foreign Ministry and the Korea Broadcasting System (KBS).
- The final round of the 2021 K-Pop World Festival is scheduled to be virtually held in the second half of 2021 and will be announced at a later date.
- Due to the current COVID-19 travel restrictions, the Preliminary Round of the K- POP World Festival in Sri Lanka will take place on a virtual platform.
- The contestants should submit the videos of theirK-pop dance performancesbefore the deadline.
- Due to the current COVID-19, there will beno vocal contest.

- BnS and Channa Wijewardena will judge the perfomances and prizes will be given to the winners.
* Channa Wijewardena is a professional dancer and choreographer and member of
Channa-Upil Performing Arts Foundation bringing Sri Lankan Cultural dance along with contemporary expression to the world.

How to participate in the K-pop world festival?
- The K-pop festival is open to individual and group dance performances.
- Submit two videos(1 required song and 1 free song) of your performing K-POP cover dance with application form to Embassy email [email protected]
※ Required song : any song of BTS
※ Free song : any K-POP song
The application deadline: 20thJuly 2021
- By submitting their videos, all the applicants are considered to agree on that their videos can be uploaded on Korean Embassy YouTube.
- The application form is attached here
- Only one application form is enough for a group/individual and the application form must be submitted with the video.
- Contestants shall agree their videos of performances to be broadcasted and to be posted on social media channels.

Choice of Video Clips for Competition
- Contestants can perform as soloists or groups.
Eligibility
- Any Sri Lankan national who resides in Sri Lanka can apply.
- Sri Lankan Nationals in foreign countries and other nationals are not allowed.

Evaluation Criteria
- Choreography, Composition, Uniformity (30%), Expression (40%), and Stage Charisma (30%)

Prizes
- 6 teams or contestants will be awarded and the awarded teams will have an opportunity to enter the final round which will be held in Korea virtually.
4 teams will be awarded for their dance performance only.
2 teams will be awarded for their dance performance and impressive story on K- POP
- Souvenirs will be given to the other contestants for participation.
