fertility rate, birthrate 출산율
사회과학에서는 fertility rate와 birthrate의 의미가 다소 상이하다. 전자는 여성 1인당 평생 낳는 아이의 수를 뜻하고, 후자는 전체 인구 대비 신생아의 수를 뜻 하기 때문이다. 하지만 일반적인 대화에서는 두 표현 이 '출산율'이라는 뜻으로 동일하게 사용된다.
