신종 코로나바이러스 검사법

요약문

2019년 12월 말 중국 우한에서 발생한 ‘원인 불명의 폐렴’에 대해 2020년 1월 7일 그 원

인이 신종 코로나바이러스(2019-nCoV. 이후 SARS-CoV-2로 명명)임이 알려졌고, 바이러스의

유전자 정보가 밝혀졌다. 그리고 이 바이러스에 의해 유발되는 증상을 “COVID-19”라고 명명

하였다. COVID-19 증상이 발생하였을 때 신속하게 검사하며 감염 경과 정도를 판단하기 위

해 SARS-CoV-2를 정확하게 검출하는 것이 필요하고, 검출법의 신속성과 정확성을 더욱 증

가시키기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 원고에서는 SARS-CoV-2의 검출 원리를 설

명하고, 현재 승인 허가된 진단 키트의 예를 정리함으로써 COVID-19에 대한 이해를 돕도록

한다.
