실용화 단계에서 부상 연구영역의 도출은 특허 문서에 등장하는 기술어들의 출현 정보(빈도)와 기술어들 사이의 연관관계를 분석함으로써 시작할 수 있다. 이 때 활 용되는 키워드 네트워크 분석은 논문에서 분석한 방법론과 동일하며, 아래와 같은 순서로 진행된다.
① 텍스트들의 집합(corpus)에서 기술어(단어 또는 명사구)을 추출
② 이들 아이템들이 각 문서에 동시 출현(Co-occurrence)한 빈도를 계산
③ 이를 적절한 유사도지수(Inclusion, Proximity, Equivalence 등)를 통해 변형
④ 각 기술어(키워드) 간의 관계를 시각화하여, 키워드로 표상된 아이디어(또 는 연구이슈)간의 연결 패턴을 분석
본 연구주제에서는 총 214 편의 최근 특허가 검색되었으며, 이들 특허문서의 제 목(titlte), 초록(abstract) 그리고 청구항(claim) 문서에 대해 자연어 처리를 수행하였 다. 이 때 명사 혹은 명사구는 총 960 개가 추출되었다. 이중 동의어 및 불용어 처 리 및 빈도가 낮은 키워드 제거과정 등을 통해 총 380개의 분석대상 키워드를 선별 하였으며 네트워크 분석 과정에서 추가 선별 작업을 진행하였다. 선별된 키워드들 은 문서 동시출현 빈도 및 유사도 지수 계산을 통하여 네트워킹되며, 결과적으로 인용패턴 분석에서처럼 다수의 클러스터로 재편되었다.
특허문서에 대한 키워드 클러스터 분석은 등록일 기준으로 처음 5년(2003~2007 년)과 다음 5년(2008~2012년)을 나누어 분석한 후 네트워크를 각각 표현하여 진행된 다. 이후 전체 기간에 대해서도 동일한 과정을 거쳐 분석하여 기간별 관심 기술의 추이를 조망할 수 있다.
주요 부상이슈Ⅰ(2003~2007 년 등록특허)
처음 5년의 분석기간에 대해서는 총 17개의 키워드 클러스터가 도출되었다. 각각 의 키워드 클러스터는 인용패턴분석에서 언급한 바와 같이 밀도와 중심성 값을 갖 으며, 그 결과는 다음의 그림 26, 27과 같다.

Centrality 는 클러스터 사이의 연결 정도를 나타내는 것으로 그 값이 높은 클러 스터는 다른 클러스터와 연결이 많음을 나타낸다. 즉, centrality가 높은 클러스터는 그 분야에서 중심이 되는 주제라고 할 수 있다.
Density는 클러스터 내의 키워드 사이의 연결정도를 나타낸다. density 값이 높은 클러스터는 그 안의 키워드 사이의 연결(동시발생)이 빈번하며 이는 키워드에 해당 하는 내용으로 연구개발이 활발하게 이루어지는 것으로 추정해볼 수 있다.
높은 중심성과 높은 밀도를 갖는 1그룹 클러스터의 기술은 고실감/인터랙티브형 디지털 사이니지 분야에서 이미 중심이 되어 있는 주제이며, 활발히 연구되어온 기 술이라고 볼 수 있다. 높은 중심성을 가지고 있으나 밀도는 낮은 2그룹은 동 분야 에서 기술적으로 중심의 위치에 있으나 아직 활발한 연구가 없는 기술로 향후 많은 연구가 기대되는 주제이다.
한편, 중심성은 낮고 밀도는 높은 3그룹은 독립된 연구분야로 연구가 활발히 되 고 있으나, 고실감/인터랙티브형 디지털 사이니지 분야의 중심적인 기술이라고 보 기 어려운 주제라고 볼 수 있다.
