◦ 감귤류 생산관측정보는 미국 농무부 농업통계위원회 (Agricultural Statistics Board/USDA)에 의해 수확기 이전부터 수확이 완료될 때까지 매월 발표 됨. 발표는 인쇄물, 팩스, email, 인터넷, 방송 등을 통해 수행됨.
◦ 관측 자료는 오전 8:30에 동시에 공표함으로써 누구에게나 공평한 접근 기회를 제공함. 관측 자료가 공표되기 전까지 농업통계위원회는 출입을 엄격히 통제(lock-up)하고 있음.
8. 캘리포니아주 2003년산 조사사례
◦ 조사 지역
- 캘리포니아주 오렌지의 대부분이 생산되는 Central Valley지역 - 4개 군(Madera, Fresno, Tulare, and Kern County)
◦ 조사 표본
- 표본 수와 대상: 498개 과원 - 표본 추출 방법:
1) 군 및 품종별 성과수면적에 비례해서 농장(과원)을 무작위 추출 2) 각 농장에서 두 그루를 다시 무작위 추출
◦ 조사 시기: 9월 1일 기준(1차 조사)
◦ 조사 내용 - 열매수 측정
- 각 나무의 주가지(trunk) 및 가지(branch) 측정
*Central Valley 지역의 성과수면적(bearing acreage)과 직경(diameter) 크기 는 오렌지산업계에서 측정한 자료
*Central Valley 지역의 생산과 이용(production and utilization)에 관한 자료
는 포장업자(협동조합 포함), the Citrus Research Board 등의 오렌지 산 업계와 캘리포니아주정부 식품농업부의 검사 자료(inspection data)등을 통해 입수.
◦ 예측치 산출 방식
- 생산예상량 = f(성과수면적, 단위면적당 그루수, 그루당 열매수, 열매크기) *수확기의 평균예상직경은 조사시점의 직경조사치에 과거 5개년 수확기
(익년 3월 1일 기준)까지의 평균 직경증가율을 적용하여 산정.
◦ 단수의 주관적 조사(subjective survey)
- 조사 대상: 각 품목별 200~300호의 표본 농가에 대한 설문 - 조사 내용: 예상 단수, 수확면적
- 조사 방법: 우편 설문 또는 전화 설문
ABSTRACT
The Status and Prospects of Orange/Grape Industries in the United States
Orange Imports have rapidly expanded in Korea since it joined the WTO in 1995.
As total volume of orange import exceeds a hundred thousand tons, imported oranges make a significant impact on the fruit market in Korea. Most orange imports come from the United States and the volume of grape imports from the United States is second to Chile. It is therefore important to investigate the United States' fruit industry in order to gauge future grape and orange imports from the U.S.
This study aims to grasp the long-term supply and demand trend for oranges and grapes in the United States, and investigate their factors for future change.
