Tip. 구는 뭐고, 절은 뭔가요?

1) 구(phrase): 주어+동사 관계가 아닌 두 개 이 상의 단어가 품사(명사, 형용사, 부사)의 역할을 한다.

To speak English is not easy.(명사구: 주어)

I want to go to the U.S.(명사구: 목적어)

The books on the desk are mine.(형용사구)

His house is on the hill.(부사구: 동사수식)

Tip. 구는 뭐고, 절은 뭔가요?

2) 절(clause): 주어+동사로 되어있는 두 개 이 상의 단어들이 품사 (명사, 형용사, 부사)의 역할 을 한다.

I know that he is strong.(명사절: 목적어)

This is what I want to know.(명사절: 보어)

This is the letter which he wrote.(형용사절)

Although they are poor, they are happy.

단어와 단어, 구와 구, 절과 절을 연결하는 말.

등위접속사: and, or, but, so, for(왜냐하면)

종속접속사: that, after, before, because, as, since, while, when, if, though, although…

8개의 품사로 이루어진 영어의 단어들이 일정 한 규칙을 따라 “문장의 요소”의 역할을 함 으로써 5가지의 기본적인 의미를 지닌 영어문 장의 형식들로 변환된다.
