The Press Office of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea is seeking a temporary Event Coordinator who will assist Diplomatic and Senior Administrative staff in organising events from the Press Office of the Embassy. The post requires a native English speaker.

Contract period 6 months starting 1 May 2013

Salary £700 per month

Job Brief To assist the work of the Press Office of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea.

Job Responsibilities

Event organising

o Researching potential audience groups (government bodies, institutions, universities, media, bloggers, etc.) for events the Press Office organises and promoting events to the targeted groups.

o Drafting Press Releases for each event.

o Drafting Speeches for events.

o Drafting Event News updates for the Embassy website.

o Assisting at Events.

Administration

o Dealing with Public Enquiries by phone and email in a polite and courteous manner.

o Writing letters and proofreading documents written in English o Conducting research on key developments in public organisations

and commercial bodies in the press and culture sectors (DCMS, British Council, BBC, etc.).

o Updating database of key journalists with Korean interests

Skills required

- Excellent research and writing skills for PR purposes

- Experience of using MS Office (esp. Word, Excel) and Outlook is essential - Prior experience of event organization desirable

- Knowledge of the Korean language is NOT necessary for this post Application Deadline 19 April 2013
