< Temporary Visa-free Entry to Chinese Nationals >
I. Policy Summary
(Eligibility) Chinese national who has not violated any law of the Republic of Korea, and
① Has been issued a visa by a Korean Diplomatic Mission and holds a proper entry and departure record to the Republic of Korea in the last 5 years; or,
Record of departure from Korea should be between 1 December 2012 and 30 November 2017.
Not applicable to those who were only issued C-3-2, E-9, or E-10 visa in the past.
② Holds a ticket to the Olympic Games (total price of 200,000KRW or more); or
NOTE: Olympic ticket holders are required to visit a designated Chinese travel agency* at least 3 working days before the date of entry into the Republic of Korea and follow the instructions given by the travel agency.
(*Travel agencies designated by the Republic of Korea Diplomatic Missions in China)
For example, if your scheduled date of entry is Monday, February 12, 2018, you should visit the designated travel agency at least on Wednesday, February 7, 2018.
Chinese nationals who receive pre-approval from the Korea Visa Portal must print out and bring the ‘Pre-approval Receipt’ and Olympic game tickets when entering Korea.
③ Holder of the Ordinary Passport for public affairs
* Those who come under the above 1, 2, or 3 and visits the Republic of Korea during the temporary visa-free entry period (1 December 2017 to 31 March 2018), will be eligible to apply for and receive a 5 year multiple visa (stay up to 90 days)
(Airport of Entry) 7 International Airports: Incheon, Gimpo, Gimhae, Cheongju, Muan, Daegu, and Yangyang
Jeju visa-free entry policy is applicable for Jeju International Airport
Entry into seaports do not apply for this scheme
(Implementation Period) 1 December 2017 – 31 March 2018 (4 months)
Designated travel agencies are required to submit the applications and Olympic ticket information at Korea Visa Portal (www.visa.go.kr) for pre- approval at least 2 working days before the traveler’s date of entry.
Olympic ticket holders will be eligible for temporary visa-free entry starting from 26 January 2018,which is 14 days before the opening ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympics
