A Study on the Visualization of the Electron Cloud of the Hydrogen Atom by Using Circular Drum Normal Modes

The vibration mode characteristics of a drum were analyzed using the Green’s function method.
In our experimental system, the drum was percussed by using an external vibrator at polar position (r
0, θ
0).
Normal modes appeared on the drum in case of k = k
mn, and they changed with the position of driving force (r
0, θ
0). The maximum amplitude of the mode was also formed along the angle θ
0. When the radius of the driving position r
0was changed, the amplitude of the mode was proportional to the value of the Bessel function (J
m(kr
0)). Therefore, the maximum amplitude appeared where the value of J
m(kr
0) was maximum.
In conclusion, we propose that the systems explored in our studies can be utilized to describe the probability density and the mode of wave formation in quantum mechanics.
