Graptolites from the Yeongwol area and their meanings on biostratigraphy and biogeography

In the Yeongwol Group of the Choseon Supergroup, the graptolite faunas consist of 15 pandemic and 8 endemic species: the former are Aspidograptus implicatus, Aspidograptus minor, Anisograptus mata- nensis, Adelograptus cf. tenellus, Callograptus cf. hopkinsoni, Callograptus radiatus, Rhabdinopora sp., Kiaerograptus kiaeri, Kiaerograptus cf. pritchardi, Kiaerograptus cf. bulmani, Araneograptus macgil- livrayi, Aorograptus victoriae, Clonograptus cf. rigidus, Clonograptus cf. norvegicus, Paradelograptus antiquus, and Paradelograptus elongatus, and the latter are Aspidograptus lotolatzensis, Callograptus cf. catenoides, Adelograptus psigraptoides, Kiaerograptus cf. hengshanensis, Kiaerograptus taylori, Psigraptus jacksoni, and Clonograptus aureus. Among those of Tremadoc graptolite faunas, Anisograptus matanensisis only assigned to Early Tremadoc and the others are placed to Late Tremadoc.
The boundary between the Mungok and Yeongheung Formations is not fully established yet, but can be examined in six sections: the Karae-jae, Ugga-gol, Dojang-gol, Namkyo, Namae-ri and Dumok Sections. At the interval including the Mungok and Yeongheung boundary fossils have seldom been ob- tained except for a few collections from several meters below, or several tens of meters above the boundary. The uppermost Tremadocian graptolite interval at the Yeongwol area is so far the Aorograptus victoriae Zone of Late Tremadocian which is somewhat below the Hunnegraptus copiosus Zone. The boundary of Mungok-Yeongheung formations at Yeongwol is positioned within the Aorograptus victor- iae zone of Late Tremadocian. The boundary between Tremadocian and Arenigian can be traced at the lower part of the Yeongheung Formation. The Yeongwol graptolite fauna consists of somewhat earlier in age than the Taebaek one, and later than the Danyang one; that is, from late Early Tremadocin to middle Late Tremadocian of the Yeongwol graptolite fauna, middle Late to late Late Tremadocian of the Taebaek graptolite fauna, and early Late Tremadocian of the Danyang graptolite fauna, respectively.
태백층군 동점층에서 산출된 Pseudokoldinioidia 화석군의 소개와 고생물학적 의미

최근 캄브리아기 최후기 삼엽충 화석이 태백층군의 화절층과 동점층 경계부에서 풍부하게 산출되어 하부 로부터 잠정적으로 saukiid-dominated, Pseudokoldinioidia대, kainellid-dominated 화석군으로 명명되었
