2. 특성
구미대학교는 한국 최대규모의 국가산업단지가 입지한 경상북도 구미시에 위치해 있습니다.

6. 장학지원
(1) 지급기간: 2016.3.1 ~ 2019.2.28 (한국어연수기간 1년, 전문학사과정 2년) (2) 지급내역
① 항공권 또는 항공료: 최초 입국 시 및 최종 귀국 시 서울과 당해국 최단거리 국제공항간 보통석 항공권 또는 항공료 지급
② 생활비: 매월 800,000원
③ 학비: 전 학기 등록금은 국립국제교육원에서, 입학금은 대학에서 지원
④ 정착지원금: 최초 입국 시 200,000원
⑤ 귀국준비금: 최종 귀국 시 100,000원
⑥ 어학연수비: 본원이 지정한 교육기관에 직접 지급
⑦ 의료보험: 장학기간 중 질병, 상해, 사고 등에 대한 보험료
⑧ 한국어능력우수자 (TOPIK 5급 이상 취득자)에게는 학위과정 진학 후 월 100,000원 지급
(3) 장학금 지급 제한사항
① 장학생의 자국 내 이동 및 한국 내 이동 항공료는 지원하지 않음
② 장학생 확정 선발 통보일 기준 한국에 체류 중인 자는 입국항공료를 지급하지 않음
③ 입국 및 귀국여행에 따른 보험료는 지원하지 않음
④ 의료비는 장학생이 병원 또는 약국에 선납 후 보험사를 통해 환불됨 (단, 치과 치료 및 만성 질병 등에 의한 치료비는 제외)
⑤ 한국 입국 후 3개월 이내 중도 포기한 경우, 장학금 전액(입국 항공료, 정착지원금, 생활비, 한국어 연수비 등)을 반납하여야 함
⑥ 중도 포기자에게는 귀국항공료와 귀국준비금을 지원하지 않음
① 본원에 서약한 사항을 위반한 경우
② 본원이 정한 학사행정 조치사항에 따르지 아니한 경우
③ 수학기관으로부터 징계처분을 받은 경우
④ 장학생으로서의 품위를 손상시키는 행동을 한 경우
① 추가 한국어연수 후 TOPIK 3급에 도달하지 못하고, 위원회의 사정 결과 학위과정 진학 자격을 취득하지 못한 경우
7. 기타 유의사항
(1) 제출 된 서류는 반환되지 않음
(2) 서류의 누락, 작성오류, 판독불능에 따른 책임은 지원자에게 있으며 제출된 서류에 대 해 지원자격 심사와 관련하여 추가 서류를 요청할 수 있음
(3) 전형기간 중 연락이 되지 않아 발생되는 불이익은 지원자의 책임에 따름.
(4) 입학전형 성적 및 평가 내용은 공개되지 않음
(5) 입학 한 학생의 학사 관리는 구미대학교 학칙 및 규정에 따름

2. About Gumi University
Gumi University is located in Gumi City, Korea, which is home to the largest inland industrial complex in Korea. Gumi University dates its founding to March 1992, Since 1992, GU has produced about 30,000 professional experts in various fields.

2. Qualifications
: Prospective applicant must meet the following qualification criteria;(1) Must be a citizen of the country to which scholarships are offered, which also applies to his/her parents.
※ Both applicant and his/her parents must not be a holder of Korean citizenship (2) Should be under 25 years of age as of March 1, 2016(Should be born after
March, 1, 1991).
(3) Have adequate health, both physically and mentally.
※ Physically handicapped who satisfy the above(3) are also eligible for the program
※ NOT Eligible: those who are pregnant or who have a severe illness.
※The scholarship grantee must undergo a health examination conducted by NIIED upon entry into Korea. If serious illness is revealed upon health examination, then the grantee's scholarship privilege will be revoked.
(4) Have graduated or be scheduled to graduate from a high school as of March 1, 2016.
※ NOT Eligible: those who have already obtained a bachelor’s degree or a higher degree.
(5) Must possess above 75%(out of 100%) cumulative grade point average (C.G.P.A.), or must be within 25%(out of 100%) in the rank during their entire high school period
※ If the applicant has not yet finished high school but will do so before the commencement of the program, the applicant's academic records should include all grades for the courses the applicant has completed up until the submission of application.
(6) The applicant should be willing to contribute to advancement of technology by landing in a job in specialized technology field either in Korea or abroad.
(7) The applicant must not at any time have ever received a Korean government scholarship for an course of same nature as GKS.
(8) The applicant must not have enrolled in an associate degree program in Korea before.
※ NOT Eligible: those who have ever enrolled at a Korean university as a regular or an exchange student(D-2 visa holder)
※ NIIED will undergo entry and exit record check from immigration office during the second stage of admission process. If the applicant has breached the terms, the applicant will not be eligible for admission.
(9) Must have no limitations in travelling abroad.
(10) There may be preferential treatment for applicants who have proficiency in Korean or English.
(11) Applicants with science and/or engineering major background may get preferential treatment.
(12) If the applicant has applied to more than one institution, then the applicant will be excluded from second stage of admission process.

5. Required Documents: 1 set of the original documents below, and 3 sets of the photocopied documents are required.

(5) Two recommendation letters(from different recommenders) ※ recommender(either advising teacher or school principal) (6) Personal medical assessment, 1 copy

(9) Graduation Certificate of High School or Provisional Graduation Certificate, 1 copy

※ 1 set of the original documents and 3 sets of the photocopied ones should be placed in a separate envelope. Recommendation letters should be submitted as sealed by the recommenders without being disclosed.
※ Original documents should be submitted. However, should they be available, copies must be authenticated by the issuing institution that they are the same with the originals.
※ Spelling of name in English in the application form MUST be exactly the same as in the passport.
※ If there is any inconsistency in the applicant’s name or birth date on submitted documents, further evidential document to verify it should be attached.
※ Those applicants who submits a Provisional Graduation Certificate of High School as an expectant graduate during the application period should submit his or her Graduation Certificate of High School upon arrival in Korea.
※ When submitting the documents, the documents should be arranged by the checklist order in the FORM 1. Each document can be stapled, but do not staple all the documents together, or do not put them into a transparent file
※ All of the materials should be A4 sized ones; if smaller, attach the material to an additional A4 sized paper; if bigger, fold it up to be an A4 sized one.
※ A high school grade transcript should contain a description of the school grading system. And if the applicant class rank or percentile is not stated in the transcript, you should submit an additional official certificate issued by your high school to prove that your academic achievement satisfies 5-(5) above.
※ Other documents except the ones written on a form prescribed by NIIED should contain their numbers and names on the top right. (ex).⑦ Graduation Certificate of High School
※ Mailing address should be stated in full including postal-code.
※ Submitted documents will not be returned to the applicant. So please make and keep photocopies of all application packages.
※ Incomplete or incorrect documents may lead to application rejection or failure in the selection procedures.
※ Any terms that is not included in this admission information shall be referred to guidelines set forth by NIIED.
6. Scholarship benefits
(1) Scholarship Period: March 1, 2016 ~ February 28, 2019(1 year of Korean language course plus 2 years of associate bachelor's degree program)
(2) Scholarship details
① Airplane ticket or airfare: The grantees will receive an airplane ticket or be paid an economy class airfare of the shortest route between their country and Korea when they come to Korea, and, thereafter, when they leave Korea after completion of their study.
② Monthly living Stipend: 800,000 won per month
③ tuition fee for the whole period will be covered by NIIED and the entrance fee for the first semester by the host university.
④ Settlement Allowance: 200,000 won upon arrival
⑤ Repatriation Allowance: 100,000 won upon completion of studies
⑥ Korean Language Training Expenses: The full costs up to 1 year (NIIED pays directly to the language training institution)
⑦ Medical Insurance: The grantees will be provided with health insurance for major accidents and illnesses during their scholarship period.
⑧ The grantee who has level 5 or higher in TOPIK will receive 100,000 won per month after being enrolled at a university for his/her higher degree.

① NIIED does not compensate expenses for the domestic travel both in the grantee’s country and in Korea.
② Airfare for entry into Korea will not be provided to a grantee that has been staying in Korea as of the date of announcement of successful candidates
③ NIIED does not compensate expenses for insurance for traveling to and from Korea.
④ The medical fee is to be reimbursed through the insurance company to the
grantee after s/he pays first. However, the expense for dental clinic or chronic disease will not be covered.
⑤ Any grantee that quits the program within 3 months after s/he entering Korea, should refund all scholarship; airfare for coming into Korea, settlement allowance, monthly stipend, Korean language training expenses, etc.
⑥ Any grantee who gives up his/her study in the half way during the scholarship period will not receive airfare and allowance for return to his/her country.
⑦ Monthly living stipend will not paid if the grantee leaves Korea temporarily during Korean language training.
⑧ Monthly living stipend will not be paid if the grantee leaves Korea for more than 30 days per semester during his or her academic degree course.
(4) Disqualification as scholarship grantee
① if the application documents submitted turns out to false or untrue.
② when the grantee has breached the pledge he or she swore to keep.
③ when the grantee has violated regulations set forth by NIIED
④ when the grantee has received any form of disciplinary measure from the university
⑤ when the grantee behave in any manner which may damage or tarnish the reputation as a scholarship recipient.
⑥when the grantee fails to earn level 3 in TOPIK and as a result determined not fit for further studies by the GKS committee.
7. Other important facts
(1) All documents submitted will not be returned.
(2) Applicant shall be accountable for any omission of required documents, error in completing the forms, or illegibility of documents submitted. Admission committee can request additional documents for review.
(3) Applicant shall be liable for any penalty that results from not being available for contact during the admission process.
(4) Admission evaluation scores or records will not be disclosed.
(5) Applicant who enrolls at Gumi University shall follow the rules and regulation of Gumi University.
(6) Any terms that is not included in this admission information shall be referred to rules of Gumi University, and GKS admissions committee rulings.
