2019 Korean Studies Promotion Program Announcement

We hereby announce the new project application support plan for the 2019 Korean Studies Promotion Program.

1. Program Information

□ Program Objectives

◦ Developing high-quality human resources by assisting Korean studies centers and Koreanists in the world.

◦ Consolidating infrastructure for Korean studies such as database, archives and reference materials.

◦ Encouraging worldwide recognition of Korea by dissemination of knowledge in Korean studies.

◦ Providing sources for knowledge reproduction and creative theories in Korean studies.

2. Restrictions on Applications and Participation

□ Researchers may be given Ministry of Education research grants (including Korean Studies Promotion Program, NRF research grants, etc.) for up to three projects per person. However, he/she may serve as project director for only one project, and the personnel expenses cannot be duplicated.

※ Restrictions for participation in only one project of Global Korean Studies Programs have been abolished since 2019 and the restriction of participation as above is applied as same. However, Researchers can participate in only one project of Laboratory Program for Korean Studies and English Translation of 100 Korean Classics supported by KSPS

□ If the current research project commencement predates December 31, 2018 and the deadline predates December 31, 2019, the project should not be included in the number of the projects for which participation is limited.

◦ One copy of research proposal, etc.
