Spring’s beauty at its best: in April, Goryeosan mountain on Ganghwa-do is covered with pink and magenta azaleas in full bloom. This year’s festival runs from April 12 to April 23, 2017.
Goryeosan is the highest
mountain of Ganghwa-do island in Incheon. It has an elevation of 436 m, high enough to provide splendid panoramas yet still manageable for a family hike.
How to get there:
By car: about 60 km away from G-tower, expect 1h 30m.
Ganghwa island is connected by bridge.
On Earth Day (April 22nd), turn out your lights for 10 minutes
This week celebrates the 9th Week of Climate Change with the culmination of Earth day on April 22nd.
To raise awareness of climate change and promote public actions in their daily lives, G-Tower in Songdo will turn out all of the lights for 10 minutes from 8 pm on April 22nd.
From 8 pm, the exterior lighting and lights within all the offices will go out. G-tower of Songdo hosts environmental international organizations, including the HQ of the Green Climate Fund.
CAISSON24 – A new cultural attraction in Songdo
Songdo international Business District (IBD) is becoming a center for arts and cultural exchange, attracting tourists home and abroad. And recently a new cultural complex has opened its doors – CAISSON24 near Solchan Park 24.
CAISSON24 is an arts and cultural platform on the caisson site of 13,223.142 square meters which was used to construct Incheon Bridge.

Apr.17, 2017 NO.8It is designed as an arts and cultural complex for video watching, music listening, artworks exhibition, coffee and tea, and dining and wining. Its outdoor terrace and square have a seaside view of Songdo and the campus of Incheon National University.
Based on this physical infrastructure, Incheon Metropolitan City plans to cooperate with schools, businesses, citizens and relevant institutions in order to create lively and unique street culture in Songdo IBD.
Furthermore Incheon is going to actively promote the cultural place as a perfect location for commercial ads, music videos, dramas, films and photography. It is also going to be a place for exhibitions and experience events of the artworks by local artists and craftsmen.
Youngjong Seaside Park
Youngjong Seaside Park is one of the key points for visitors to Youngjong Island. It is located in the south east coast of Youngjong Sky City with 1.93㎡of land connecting from the Incheon Bridge Memorial Hall to an old port of the island. Youngjong Fort and Fortress, salt farms were restored, and an outdoor
swimming pool, bike roads, an observation platform were created.

Apr.17, 2017 NO.8You can enjoy rail biking and camping in Youngjong Seaside Park from April 29. The rail stretches 2.8km along the coast of the park near Youngjong Sky City. Rail bike riders can relish the coastal view of Incheon, including Incheon Bridge, Songdo International City and Wolmi Island.
Medical Complex for Specialized Hospitals Coming to Incheon
On 15,234㎡of land of Songdo’s Knowledge and Information Complex, a specialized hospital complex (SHC) will be created by May 2020. The SHC project is valued at $220 million, and more than 500 beds will be placed.
The SHC project is carried out by a consortium of five hospitals: Malaysian medical investment firm GPSB, Sejong General Hospital, HanGil Eye Hospital, Yeson Hostpital (orthopedics), Dain Ear Nose and Throat Hospital, and New Korea Hospital (general). The consortium capitalized at
$13,142 is expected to attract 16.67% of its capital through foreign investment.
The complex will accommodate 100 inpatients in orthopedics, 100 in cardiovascular service, 80 in ENT, 60 in internal medicine, 50 in ophthalmology, and the rest for obstetrics and genecology, urology, proctology and others.
