V. CONCLUSION
Semi-quantitative assessment of glioma vascularity using non-contrast-enhanced high-field HR-SWI shows significant correlation with the values of MR perfusion parameters, currently the best imaging modality for glioma grading. Moreover, the specificity and PPV of HR-SWI are higher than those of DSC MR perfusion because the ITSSs are rarely seen in low grade glioma. Therefore, the ITSSs are potentially helpful sign suggesting a correct diagnosis of high grade glioma. Our results show the possibility of a non-contrast brain tumor imaging protocol in patients who have contraindications for contrast agents or who cannot tolerate the bolus injection.
