We established the development strategy for the Department of Land, Water, and Environment Research, which takes into account changes in both internal and external conditions in the water sector, KICT 2030, and KICT R&R through this study. Planning research in various fields related to water has been organically promoted by the variable research group, and some have been extended to internal projects and external national R&D projects. The department has been carrying out substantial international joint researches with the Netherlands, Australia, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

Especially, the department is doing a collaborative research with CSIRO in Australia, which is an opportunity to strengthen the capacity of water environment technology development. Moreover, three centers in the department have been established as an operation and special center. It is believed that improvements in the structure of the department are beginning to be achieved by sharing issues and problems related to the department through issue time and ICE Breaking. Both programs are exchanging opinions freely among researchers on research issues.
