본 연구의 결과를 기반으로 다음과 같은 제언을 하고자 한다.
1.간호교육․실무 측면
1)프리셉터 간호사의 비판적 사고성향과 신규 간호사의 간호수행능력에 상관관계가 있음 이 확인되었으므로 프리셉터 간호사의 교육방법에 있어서 비판적 사고성향을 향상 시킬 수 있는 교육프로그램을 개발할 것을 제언한다.
2)신규 간호사에게 새로운 지식의 습득을 위한 다양하고 지속적인 교육의 기회가 주어지 도록 지원할 것을 제언한다.
3)프리셉터 간호사의 비판적 사고성향을 신규 간호사의 교육에 접목 시킬 수 있는 교육 방법론을 개발할 것을 제언한다.
2.간호연구 측면
1)프리셉터 간호사의 비판적 사고성향과 신규 간호사의 간호수행능력에 관한 반복연구와 간호수행능력의 측정 시 자가보고 형식의 도구 사용보다는 상급자의 평가에 의한 간호수행 능력의 측정이 이루어진 연구를 제언한다.
2)프리셉터 간호사의 비판적 사고성향과 비판적 사고기술을 함께 측정하는 연구를 제언 한다.
3)프리셉터 간호사의 비판적 사고성향의 발달에 도움이 되는 교육내용과 교육방법,교육 기준개발에 관한 연구를 제언한다.

This descriptive-correlationalstudy was conducted to investigate criticalthinking disposition of the preceptor nurses and professionalnursing competence of the new graduatenursesand toclarify therelationshipsbetween them.Itisexpected toprovide fundamentalinformationfornursingeducationandclinicalpractice,andeventuallytomake acontributiontonursingqualityimprovement.
A conveniencesampleof49new graduatenursesandtheir49preceptorswhoworkin thewardsandintensivecareunitwasobtainedfrom A universityhospitalinS city. The datawascollectedfrom June1toOctober31,2007.
The instruments used in the study were CCTDI(California Critical Thinking DispositionInventory)developedbyFacione& Facione(1994)andadaptedbyHwang(1998), and6-D scale(SixDimensionScaleofNursingPerformance)developedbySchwirian(1978) and adapted by Kim (1985).SPSS forwindows (version 12.0)was used forstatistical analysis.Thedatawasanalyzedbyt-test,ANOVA andPearson'sCorrelationCoefficient
as wellas descriptive statistics such as frequencies,percentages,means and standard deviations.
Theresultsofthestudyareasfollows.
1.The criticalthinkingdispositionofthepreceptornurseswas47.36outof70.Theeach item ofcriticalthinkingdispositionwerelistedasfollows; 'inquisitiveness'7.42,'maturity’
7.07,‘analyticity’6.92,'truth-seeking’6.64,‘systematicity’6.63,'criticalthinking self confidence'6.57,'open-mindness'6.11.
2.Theprofessionalnursing competenceofthenew graduatenursewas41.23outof60. Theeach item ofprofessionalnursing competencewerelisted asfollows;'interpersonal relationship/communication’7.37,‘professionaldevelopment'7.11,'planning/evaluation'7.09, 'criticalcare’6.66,'leadership'6.47,'teaching/collaboration’6.45.
3.Thecriticalthinking dispositionofthepreceptornursesby generalcharacteristicshad no statistical significant difference. However, there was a statistical difference in 'systematicity' by workplace (t=-2.34,p=.024) and in 'maturity' by the number of preceptorshipamong eachitem ofcriticalthinkingdisposition.
4. The professional nursing competence of the new graduate nurses by general characteristics had no statistically significant difference but there was a statistical difference in 'teaching/collaboration' (t=2.11, p=.040), 'interpersonal relationship /communication'(t=3.05,p=.004)by workplaceamong each item ofprofessionalnursing competence.
5.Therewasasignificantly positivecorrelation (r=.45,p=.001)between criticalthinking disposition ofthe preceptor nurses and professionalNursing competence of the new graduatenurses.
In conclusion,thefindings ofthis study showed a significantly positivecorrelation between criticalthinking disposition ofthe preceptor nurses and professionalnursing competenceofthenew graduatenurses.Furtherstudiesaretobeconductedtoidentifythe ways to improve professional nursing competence by reviewing critical thinking disposition.In addition,consistenteffortsto develop and operatepreceptorship program, and toseek waysto combinecriticalthinking disposition ofpreceptornurseswith new graduatenurses'educationwouldberequiredasitmightcontributetoimprovequalityof nursing educationandpractice.
