줄여 잔존치아 수를 늘리기 위해서는 노인들의 지속적인 정기검진과 적절한 치 과치료를 통해 자연치를 보존할 수 있는 노력을 기울여야 할 것이다. 이는 노인 들의 구강건강인식의 개선이 선행되어야 하는데, 이를 위해서는 노인들을 대상으 로 하는 구강건강관련 삶의 질 향상을 위한 다양한 구강보건교육프로그램이 개 발되어야 할 것이다. 이에 따라 본 연구가 긍정적인 역할을 할 것이라 사료된다.
마지막으로 향후 노인들의 구강건강관련 삶의 질을 향상시키기 위해 보다 광범 위한 연구 대상자를 대상으로 한 후속연구가 시행되기를 제안하는 바이다.

This study used survey which consists of xerostomia, chewing ability, measureofOHRQOL with 119elderly paitients(mean age,65years)visiting dentalcliniclocated on Gyeonggi-doand Seoul.Medicalrecordswereused to collectthe numberofremaining teeth and wearofremovable denture.The obtained datawasanalyzedusingIBM SPSSversion19.0.
Generaland health related features ofresearchers were analized with the average value of OHRQOL.And xerostomia,chewing ability,number of remaining teeth wereexamined by relationship.Analysisresultshaveshowed thatgender and education level,diabetes and wear ofremovable denture, xerostomia,chewing ability,the number of remaining teeth are associated withOHRQOL.Regardinggender,malewasmoreassociated thanfemale,and regarding education levelpeoplewho graduated from elementary schoolhad
negative correlation than high school.Regarding diabetes who don’thave diabetesweremoreassociated,and whodoesn’ttakeremovabledenturewere more associated.Xerostomia and chewing ability were negatively associated with OHRQOL,and the number ofremaining teeth have showed positive correlation.Multipleregression analysiswasused to identify prediction factos ofOHRQOL and the resulthave showed thatXerostomia,chewing ability, number of remaining teeth are the prediction factors and OHRQOL 71.7%(R2=.717)wasalsoexplained.
Based on these results, taking aggressive preventive treatment and development of dental health education programs for elderly people are neccessarytoimproveOHRQOL.
