Korea Shares Development Experience With Emerging Countries
The Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) launched a new program last week that will vitalize Korea’s efforts to share its development experience with emerging economies.
Under the new program, MKE established a forum, which serves as a consulting body, consisting of experts from government-supported research institutions, public enterprises such as the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), and private consulting firms. The forum is prepared to discuss Korea’s industrial development success with emerging countries to reduce the need for trial and error as they seek their own paths of development.
Members of the forum specialize in R&D policy, industrial complexes, infrastructure construction (transportation, electricity and communications) and development projects in the energy and resources and information technology sectors. Many of them have extensive experience in conducting feasibility studies and setting up master plans for emerging countries.
