서 론
울릉도와독도해역은우리나라의영토적인측면뿐만아니라
,
수산및해저자원측면에서도중요한위치를차지하는해역으 로,
이해역의어업자원의특성과현황을파악하기위해서는생 물생태의기반연구수행이필수적이다.
이에본연구에서의울릉도와독도주변해역의어업자원중하나인불볼락
(Sebastes
thompsoni)
의자원생태학적특성치연구를수행하였다.
불볼락
(S.thompsoni)
은 쏨뱅이목(Order Scorpaeniformes)
양볼락과(Family Scorpaeridae)
에속하며우리나라전연안,
일 본북해도이남,
동중국해등지의수심약70-150 m
암초지역에 서식하는연안정착성어류다(NFRDI, 2004; Kim et al., 2005).
전세계적으로양볼락과어류는지금까지약
330
종이밝혀져있 으며,
우리나라에출현하는종은43
종이알려져있다(Kim et al., 2005).
불볼락은전세계적으로우리나라와일본의연근해에서만서 식하고 있는것으로보고되고 있어
(Fishbase, www.fishbase.
se),
관련연구는국내와일본에서주로수행되었다.
일본에서는불볼락의연령과성장을결정짓는요소
(Suzuki et al., 1978),
불 볼락의생활사(Yamada, 1980),
불볼락의초기생활사(Toru Na- gasawa et al., 1995),
불볼락정소의계절적조직변화(Sekino et al., 2000),
불볼락의기생요각류Copepod Clavella parva
의감 염(Nagasawa et al., 2008)
등연구수행이되었다
.
그리고국내에서는불볼락과개볼락의난형태및자어의형 태발달
(Han et al., 1996),
불볼락의 생식주기(Lee and Huh,
1998),
부산주변해역에출현하는불볼락의생식생태(Baeck
et al., 2010),
부산주변해역에서채집된불볼락의식성(Huh et al., 2008),
불볼락에대한반사강도의체장의존성(Moon et al.,
2006),
불볼락을대상으로광대역음향산란신호의시간-
주파수분석
(Lee, 2015)
등이연구가되었으며,
대부분남해연안자원울릉도 및 독도 근해의 불볼락(Sebastes thompsoni)의 연령과 성장

We studied the characteristics of age and growth of the Goldeyes rockfish Sebasetes thompsoni in the Ulleungdo and Dokdo areas by using 730 otoliths from February 2013 to February 2014. The lowest value of the marginal index was found in June once a year. The spawning period was estimated as April. Therefore, the duration from fertilization to the complete formation of the first annual growth ring is fourteen months. From the parameters calculated using the weighted average length of the year ring formation, the growth of S. thompsoni was demonstrated by the von Berta- lanffy growth equation as L t =34.68(1- e -0.2113(t+0.7683) ) for females and L t =29.79(1- e -0.2163(t+1.7964) ) for males, L t =32.84(1- e -0.25(t+0.57) ) for combined sex. Comparing with growth performance index(Φ) from these 4 offshore areas, parameter of S. thompsoni in Ulleungdo area was 2.4087, that of in Tong-yeong was 2.2835, that of in Aomori was 2.4077 and in Niigata was 2.3927. As a result, the value of Dokdo and Ulleungdo areas showed the highest.

따라서본연구의목적은동해의울릉도및독도근해에서어 획되고있는불볼락의연령과성장에관해연구를수행하여자 원생태학적인연구자료를확보하고
,
다른해역에서서식하는 불볼락과성장률의차이를비교하고자한다.
재료 및 방법
본연구에사용된시료
(
불볼락, S.thompsoni)
는2013
년2
월부터
2014
년2
월까지울릉도와독도의주변해역에서삼중자망을이용하여어획하였다
.
본연구해역은외부진입이매우제한 적인해역으로,
연구대상어종인불볼락은울릉도주민들이선 호하는어종이며섬에서자체소비를위해어획하는형태를보 이고있다.
또한해당어종은시기에따라깊은수심으로이동하 는것으로알려져있어울릉도어업인들도1-9
월까지만어획하 고있어본연구를수행하기위해현지어획물구입과직접자 망조사를병행하였다.
그러나이중10
월부터12
월사이는44
일 이풍랑주의보와풍랑경보등,
조업에적합하지않은기상조건 으로인하여시료를채집할수없었다(National Climate Data Service System, sts.kma.go.kr).
어획된 불볼락은 총
731
개체였으며,
암컷429
개체와 수컷302
개체였다(Table. 1).
어획된시료는자망에서직접분리하 여현장에서측정하거나,
그럴수없을때는아이스박스에담 아실험실로운반하여체장(0.1 cm)
과체중(0.01 g)
을측정하 였다.
체장과체중의측정후생식소를추출하는과정에서암 수를구분하였으며,
생식소는따로전자저울을이용하여중량(0.01 g)
을측정하였다.
이석의추출은눈을기준으로하여머리윗부분을절개하여좌우로보이는이석한쌍을꺼낸후표 면에붙어있는이석낭과이물질을제거한후

알콜에세척 하여보관하였다.
생식소중량지수
(Gonad somatic index, GSI)
는다음식을이 용하여구하였다.
GSI = GW / BW ×10 3
여기서
GW (Gonad weight, g)
는 생식소의 중량이고, BW (Body weight, g)
는체중이다.
연령사정
연령사정에는윤문판독의통일성을위해우측편이석만을 이용하였다
.
이석판독은타원형인이석표면의윤문을실체현 미경을사용하여판독하였다.
이석중심부의초점에서연변까 지최장축을측정기준선으로하여이석경(R)
을읽었으며,
실 체현미경(DE/MZ-125, LEICA)
과 영상분석시스템(Lampad, Zootoz)
을이용하여이석경과각윤문까지거리(r n )
을mm
단위 로측정하였다.
윤경판독시에는좌우방향의윤의개수가동일 한지를비교하여위륜여부를판단하였으며,
각윤을r 1 , r 2 , r 3 ,
… r n
로정하였다.
윤문을판독하는데있어불투명대에서투명 대로진행되는경계가상대적으로명확하여판독시오차를줄 일수있다판단되어,
이경계를윤문으로하여판독하였다(Fig.
1).
우선윤문형성시기와산란기의주기성을분석하여연령을사 정하기위해이석연역지수
(Marginal index, MI)
의월변화를 다음식으로이용하여구하였다.

초륜형성시기는초점과제

윤문까지의형성기간으로추정하 였고,
산란기추정을위해생식소숙도지수월변화를확인하여,
연역지수의월변화와비교하였다.
윤문별이석경에대한윤경 간의관계를검토한후불볼락이석에나타나는윤문을연륜으 로인정하여체장과윤경의관계식을구하였다.
그리고관계식 은윤경(R)
과체장(L)
의관계를이용하여연령별역계산체장 을구하고,
체중과체장간의관계식에서각연령별역계산체중 을구하였다.
또한연륜과역계산된체장및체중의평균은다 음과같은식으로가중치를주어계산하였다.

연륜으로부터계산된연령별체장을이용하여

으로 추정된 각각의매개변수 값들을사용하여아래의

결 과
본연구에어획되어이용된불볼락은총
731
개체였으며,
암컷429
개체와수컷302
개체였다.
전체시료의체장(Total length, TL)
은13.6-31.4 cm
의범위를보였으며평균체장은수컷22.5 cm,
암컷22.6 cm
였다.(Fig. 2)
불볼락의이석은

명의판독자에의해독립적으로판독한연 령을CV
값으로분석하였다(Table 2).
판독자1
의첫번째판독 연령과두번째판독연령간의CV
는4.94%
가나왔으며판독자1
과판독자2
각각의CV
는4.17%
가나왔다.
그리고판독자1
과판독자3

는7.71%
가나왔고,

가나왔다.
따라서가장유효한값이나온판독 자1
의두번째판독결과와판독자2
의판독결과를이용하였다.

(Fig. 3B, 3C).
그리고두판독자간 일치되지못한표본은재판독을시행하였다.
그후얻은결과에 서두판독자간협의를통해일치된불볼락의이석표본632
개 를구하였다.
이를이용하여 다시윤문의연륜으로써의정확성을 검토하 기위하여윤문별이석경에대한윤경간의관계를검토하였고
(Fig. 4),
각윤경은암수모두일정한간격으로분포하여이석경이증가함에따라윤경이직선적으로증가하는비례관계를보 였으며
,
각윤문은인접한윤문과뚜렷이구분되는것을확인할 수있었다.
따라서이결과를사용할수있는것으로판단된다.
윤문의주기성출현여부및형성시기를확인하기위해연역 지수의월별변화를보면(Fig. 5),
암수모두연역지수(MI)

월까지증가하다가암컷은6
월에급격히내려가는것으로확인 되었다.
그리고8
월이후다시암수각각오르는양상을보였다.
즉, 6
월부터8
월경에연역지수가최저값을나타내며이때윤문 이형성된다고사료된다.
불볼락이석의초륜이형성되는시기와기간을확인하기위해 생식소중량지수
(GSI)
의월별변화를조사한결과(Fig. 6),

으로나타난후, 4
월 에급격히내려가는경향을보여4
월에산란하는것으로추정 할수있었다.
그리고낮은평균값을유지하다9

로서서히증가하기시작하여다음해1

즉,

앞서의결과에근거하여울릉도및독도근해에서식하는볼 볼락의초륜은

년으로판단된다.
불볼락이석의윤문형성이연

회의주기성을가지는연륜이 라간주하여,
이석에나타난각윤문형성시의평균윤경을연륜 별로구하였다(Table 3).
암수모두2

세의개체수가가장많았다.

이였고(Fig. 7),

으로나타났다(Fig. 8)
그리고평균윤경으로부터윤문형성시의전장을역계산하기위하여앞서구한이석경과전장사이의비례관계식를이 용하여각개체에서연륜형성시기의체장을역추정하였으며
,
전장과체중간의상대성장식을이용하여윤문형성시체중도 역계산하였다(Table 4).
Walford
정차도법으로 구한 성장 매개변수를 입력치로 하고
,
비선형 방법을 사용하여von Bertalanffy
의 체장성장식 을 구하였다.
그 결과 암컷은L t =34.68(1-e -0.21(t+0.76) ),
