Web Summit will take place at the Altice Arena & FIL, Lisbon from November 14, 2021.
A global audience of 40,000 people will be welcomed to Lisbon to learn from over 1,000 speakers, 700 investors, 1,250 exhibiting startups, 200 event partners and 1,500 media members.
The main stage at Altice Arena is one of the largest arenas in Europe and hosts some of the biggest names in technology.
Web Summit’s conference centre will consist of 4 exhibition halls, 22 content tracks across multiple stages, exhibition partners and networking lounges.
The European Commission has set a target of inoculating70% of the EU's adult populationby the end of the summer, banking on a big increase in vaccine deliveries to accelerate its vaccination drive.
In Portugal, in particular, experts advising the government have said that they expect that “by September the number of Covid cases in Portugal will be“residual”. The most vulnerable age groups are expected to be vaccinated by May, and if vaccination continues at current levels, by September there will be no new cases”.
As of the end of May,19% of the populationhas been fully vaccinated and 39% have received the first dosage. 93% of those aged between 65 and 79 have received by now at least one the first dosage. For those aged between 50 and 64 that figure is 51%.

Web Summit is collaborating with venues, suppliers and contractors as well as health, government and local authorities to develop best practice guidelines to ensure a safe, hygienic and high-quality Web Summit experience in November 2021. Our COVID19 Safety Plan, ‘Five pillars of protection’ FPP, reflects Director General of Health COVID19 guidelines from the Portuguese Government and is based on the ‘Good Practice Guidance’ for reopening events, published by the International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC, the International Congress and Convention Association
