From 1 January 2021, when vaccination against COVID-19 began, until the end of July, a total of 464,475 people became ill and positive. Of this number, a total of 9,181, or 1.95%, had a history of vaccination.
The first dose vaccinated 6,953 subjects, ie 1.5%, the second dose 2,084 positive subjects, ie 0.45%. In 144 cases (0.03%), the number of doses was not determined.

A total of 2,207,977 people were vaccinated with the first dose of COVID 19. A total of 6,953 cases of disease were reported in this group, ie 0.32% vaccinated with the first dose.
The second dose vaccinated 1,970,254 people, with a total of 2,084 cases, ie 0.11%. In 213 cases, the number of doses was not given. Nine subjects were positive after a single dose of the vaccine.

"If we take into account only the diseases in those who are more than 14 days apart from the second vaccination and after the administration of a single-dose vaccine, ie those who are expected to have the highest protection effectiveness, there were a total of 1,229 such cases, ie 0.09% , ”Emphasized doc. "Slovakia is already dominated by delta variants and the number of positive cases is gradually growing. It is important that we protect ourselves in all available ways, ”says the Chief Hygienist of the Slovak Republic, Ján Mikas.
"However, the most effective protection against COVID-19, but also against the difficult course and hospitalization, is vaccination, which is currently available to everyone," he stressed.
