The purpose of this paper reconstructs the detailed paleoenvironmental history of the East Sea during MIS-5, which is the last interglacial period. This study used the marine sediments of a piston core 05GCRP-23 recovered from a water depth of 1100m in the Sokcho-Donghae Ridge (129°32.86'E, 38°24.14'N). Recovery core length is 6.7m. The sediment of this core contains those of sediments corresponding to the last interglacial period. We measured the C37 alkenone content and the oxygen isotopic composition of the planktonic foraminifer
Globigeria bulloides
using same sediment core. We calculated past sea surface temperature (SST) using
= 0.034T - 0.039 and salinity changes from δ18O and alkenone values. We will show the results from alkenones and planktonic foraminiferal oxygen isotope analysis in the presentation.
