1. Admission Timetable
※This schedule is changeable. The change will be posted on the Office of International Affairs website.
2. Eligibility
A. Nationality and Educational Eligibility
Freshman: Foreign students who completed or who are expected to complete secondary education.
Transfer (Sophomore, Junior): Foreign students who completed secondary education and who completed or are expected to complete two years at a four year university or to graduate from a three year junior college. Students who have completed two years at three year junior college are not applicable.
- Both sides of the applicant’s parents should hold a foreign passport.
- Applicants with dual citizenship of Korean or without nationality are not eligible to apply.
B. Language Requirements
- Standard Test of Proficiency in Korean level three or CNU Korean language courses level four (Some majors require higher levels of language proficiency as given in the following table.) S-TOPIK level 3 to 5 are considered equivalent with LEC Korean Language Class levels 4 to 6 respectively.

- TOEFL PBT 550, CBT 210, iBT 80 or IELTS 5.5, TOEIC 700 or TEPS 550
Citizen or a national of the following English-speaking countries(U.S.A., Canada, England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand) are exempt from the English language proficiency requirement
3. Admissions Criteria
- Language Proficiency (maximum of 300 points)
150 for S-TOPIK level 3, 200 for S-TOPIK level 4, 250 for S-TOPIK level 5, 300 for S-TOPIK level 6 150 for TOEFL 550, CBT 210, iBT 80, IELTS 5.5, TEPS 550
- Academic Performance will be evaluated by each department and the process may include documents screening and interviews. Applicants who do not get 60% of points at the department screening will not be accepted.

6. Scholarships
A. Academic Performance Scholarships (Freshmen only)
About 30% of students are given the scholarship based on their academic performance each semester: Entrance Fee & Tuition waiver in the first semester, Full scholarship, School Support Fees waiver, 1/2 School Support Fees waiver
B. Korean Language Scholarships
1) Submitting the original S-TOPIK certificate to the office of International Affairs by December 12.

※All documents should be in either Korean or English. Documents in other languages must be accompanied by notarized Korean or English translations.
※Chinese Applicants should submit the certificate of the united high school examination in English by the China Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Information (http://www.chinadegrees.cn) by January.
20.(Tues), 2015. Students who did not take the graduation exams are required to submit the notarized high school graduation certificates with confirmation of the Korean consul in China.
※Overseas Transfer Applicants should submit the approved certificate of graduation.
Chinese: getting the certificate at the China Higher-education Student Information (http://www.chsi.com.cn) by February. 05.(Thurs), 2015
Other countries: submitting the graduation certificate approved by the Korean embassy or the own embassy in Korea
※ Additional documents for College of Arts Applicants
- Dept. of Traditional Korean Music & Music (Voice, Strings, Wind and Piano): Music CD of performance (up to 15 minutes long)
- Dept. of Music (Major of composition): At least 3 pieces of music including piano work with scores - Dept. of Fine Arts: Portfolio CD of art work
10. Additional Notes
A. Change of department is not allowed once you have completed the application on line.
B. Applicants who have submitted verification of expected graduation must submit an official verification of graduation within 15 days of admission to the Office of International Affairs.
C. Students who submitted forged documents may have their admission to CNU revoked.
D. Applicants who provided incorrect contact information are responsible for the failure of communication.
E. Submitted documents and application fees will neither be returned nor refunded. (Original certificate of graduation is returned after the application process is completed.)
F. CNU does not reveal the evaluation records of each application process under any circumstance.
G. Matters that are not included in this guide shall proceed according to the CNU's evaluation methods.
