The Special Music & Art Festival Pyeongchang 2015

(2)

Every night, during the period of ‘2013 Pyeongchang Winter Special Olympics World Games’ in Korea, there has been a cultural art concert for the participants of the sports festival.

Time has passed, but people still remember how much they were impressed by the Special Olympics Festival. To remember the impression of the Special Olympics Fes- tival, ‘The Special Olympics Music & Art Festival’ began in August 2014 as the legacy event of ‘2013 Pyeongchang Winter Special Olympics World Games.’ ‘The Special Ol- ympics Music & Art Festival’ provides not only professional music lessons, but also the master class, concerts, mini Special Olympics, and other cultural experiences to peo- ple with intellectual disabilities·autistic disorders who are majoring or studying music.

Last year, there were many people with intellectual disabilities·autistic disorders from Korea and 11 countries participated in ‘The Special Olympics Music & Art Festival.’ The second ‘Special Olympics Music & Art Festival,’ is to become a world cultural Olym- pics with participants from 16 countries. In addition, we are maintaining the Special Olympics spirit by giving opportunities to experience culture and art to people with in- tellectual disabilities·autistic disorders in undeveloped countries with support of entry fees including airline tickets.

Through music, people with intellectual disabilities·autistic disorders get the oppor- tunity to challenge themselves and achieve self-respect. People without disabilities get the opportunity to change their recognition on people with intellectual disabilities.

We hope this world festival can be filled with many people from all the countries of the world, and we will look forward to get your interest and support.

Your interest and support changes the world.
