Selfie Facts

Are you interested in selfies?

You probably like to post selfies on social media, but how much do you know about selfies?

Here are some interesting facts.

1. Robert Cornelius took the world’s first selfie in 1839.

2. Selfie became a new word in the dictionary in 2013.

3. Buzz Aldrin took the first space selfie in 1966.

Selfie Survey

Taking selfies is part of daily life for many teens, but do teens really enjoy it?

To find out, we did a survey.

We asked three questions of 300 students from ages 14 to 16.

Let’s look at the results.

Q1. Do you take selfies?

Q2. Do you use filters on your selfies to look good?

Q3. Where do you usually take selfies?

Surprisingly, 90 percent of the girls take selfies, but only 15 percent of the boys take selfies.

Also, 93 percent of these students said that they use filters.

The survey also showed that the students take selfies at school the most.

You should follow etiquette for selfies.

Ask yourself these questions before you take, post, or look at selfies.

1. Where am I?

Choose appropriate places to take selfies.

Don’t take selfies in hospitals or public restrooms.

It may bother other people.

2. Who can see this?

Keep in mind that anyone can see your selfies.

Choose carefully when you post them.

3. What kinds of comments should I leave?

Leave nice comments on other people’s selfies.

Don’t be rude.
