Important Notice for all visa applicants
The Republic of Korea has recently revised its Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act. In accordance with the revised law, foreign nationals who will be confirmed positive with regard to COVID-19 test within 14 days of their entry into Korea will have to bear all the costs relating to the treatment, which will be applicable to those who will enter Korea from August 24, 2020. In consideration of the principle of reciprocity, though, Afghan nationals that fall within the category mentioned above will have to bear the costs for medical treatment, meals, and other costs, but will be exempt from the cost for hospitalization (accommodation). Apart from that, confirmed foreign nationals, irrespective of their nationality, who contravene relevant measures for the prevention of the disease, including those who submit fake test results, have to bear all the costs without any exemption, which came into force on August 17, 2020.
