M : I just finished my snowman and it looks so good!
W : Wow! Let me see it before it melts!
M : OK. It's that one over there!
W : Which one? Is it smiling?
M : No. The snowman that I made looks sad.
W : Oh, I think I see it! Does it have a small nose?
M : No, it has a big nose and it is wearing a hat.
W : Excuse me! Are you John Smith?
M : Yes, I am. How do you know me?
W : I have read some famous books you wrote about raising children.
M : How nice! I hope they helped.
W : Can you sign your new book for me?
M : No problem!
M : You should turn your phone off in class.
W : I'm so sorry. I forgot to turn it off.
M : It's 9:30. Why are you so late?
W : Sorry, but I was stuck in a traffic jam.
M : How may I help you?
W : I'm looking for a new smart phone.
M : May I speak to your mom?
W : No, she's not at home.
M : What are you going to do this winter vacation?
W : I'm planning to go abroad.
M : What can I do for you, ma'am?
W : I want to get this coat dry-cleaned by tomorrow.
M : Sure, no problem. Anything else?
W : Can you wake me up in the morning?
M : OK. What time should we call?
W : At 6:30, please. When is check-out time?
W : Good afternoon. This is Mrs. Lee, your music teacher. I'm really happy to announce our pop song contest. If you want to join, you have to apply between now and Monday. The auditions start two days later in the music hall at 2 p.m. The final contest will be held next Friday at the same place, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The winners will be selected by your teachers. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me at any time. Thank you!
M : Let's go to see a concert this Saturday.
W : Sounds good! Who's playing?
M : My cousin's band. It starts at 7:30 in the evening. Is that OK?
W : Perfect! What time should we meet?
M : Let's meet at 7:00.
W : I think it's too late.
We will only have half an hour before the concert starts.
How about at 6:30?
M : That sounds better. See you then.
M : I'm sorry I'm late. Did I miss anything?
W : There was just an announcement about the theater's rules.
M : All right. What are the rules?
W : Well, you should not bring in any food.
M : That sounds easy enough. Is that all?
W : No. Cellphones must be turned off and animals are not allowed in the theater.
M : I see. Is it OK if I take a picture while watching the movie?
W : No way, of course not.
(Spectators are shouting)
M : Bases are loaded in a tied game at the bottom of the ninth inning here at the field and the crowd is cheering. David Johnson is up next and he steps up to the plate. The pitcher throws the ball. David swings and hits the ball into the left field. The crowd goes wild as David runs to first base and his teammate slides into home. The championship has been won!
M : Tomorrow is the day of my big race!
W : Really? What time does it begin?
M : It starts at 9 a.m. Can you be there?
W : Oh, I'm sorry but I'm busy tomorrow morning.
M : What are you going to do?
W : I have to help my brother paint his house.
M : Well, if you cannot come, please wish me luck.
