Congratulations to you for being selected as a student at KNU

Please read the following information carefully to enter the country and prepare the necessary documents.

1. How to reach Chuncheon after arriving in Korea

(Incheon Airport → Chuncheon)

You can buy a bus ticket at the bus terminal 1F ticket office. You can also buy your ticket at outside the ticket office at 9C.

3. Alien Registration (Card) Issue Process

The alien registration card must be applied within 90 days of arrival in Korea.

Originally, one must prepare the required documents and visit the Immigration Office but the university provides a transportation service to get to the Immigration Office for the new students at the beginning of the semester.

Please prepare the required documents to submit to the Office of International Affairs in the first week of the semester.

4. Class Registration

1. Period of Course Registration

March 25^th(Fri) 10:30am, 2:30pm

- Where: Parking lot behind the library

- Please come to the location at either time when there is no class. The staff from the Office of International Affairs will go together riding the university bus.

- After registering the finger prints, the alien registration card will be issued and all will come back to the university.

Detail

The TB Test became mandatory from 2015 to prevent the spread of TB. The students from ‘the 16 counties of high occurrence rate among the TB high risk nations’ must have the test results from the

‘local health center.’ This is a document required at the Immigration Office so the relevant students must be tested.

Relevant law

Immigration Control Law Article 46 Clause 1 No. 3:

It regulates that any patient with a contagious disease is forced to be deported

- How to get there from the campus: Round trip by Taxi (about 10,000 won), Bus (3,000 won)

- It is recommended to get tested as soon as arriving in Korea for the results will come after 2~3 days of the test.

Remarks

- The student who did not pay the maintenance fee in a given period must be evicted.

- It is for one semester and the students who wish to stay during vacation must apply on the website a month before the end of class and make the payment.

(The Office of Internationa Affairs arranges a dormitory application for the new students only in the first semester.)

2) Key Dormitory Regulations

※ Don’ts (give penalty points)

- Smoking, cooking and drinking inside the building - Curfew (1 am ~5 am) access

- Absent for the entrance check

- When having a friend sleep over who is not a roommate

- When a male student enters the female dormitory or vice versa ※ Please do not make a loud noise or speak up on the hallway at night.

3) Entrance Check (Roll Call)

- There is an entrance check (roll call) culture in the Korean dormitory system. As it is a place of community living, it is a chance to check whether the students are doing fine. It is carried out on the Monday at 11 pm of the first week of the first month at the dormitory hallway.

The dormitory volunteer scholarship student informs the importance announcements and checks for the cleaning conditions and the prohibited items (electric port, refrigerator, electric pad, etc.) for a short period of time (about a minute).

- The first entrance check of this semester will be on March 7^th(Mon) so please be there by 11pm.

4) Submission of TB Test Result (Diagnosis) for the Community Living

- All students residing in the dormitory must submit the TB Test results to the dormitory.

- Do not submit the chest X-ray but hand in a sheet of A4 to verify that the TB test result shows ‘normal (negative).’ It must be written in English and the document in any other languages will not be accepted.

- The students from the 16 counties who must get the test at the Chuncheon Health Center may take the test after arriving in Korean and submit a copy to the dormitory by getting two copies.

6. How to use the Cafeteria

Option ①

Pay the amount for a semester and use [dormitory cafeteria]

Pros

Though it is too much to pay the lump sum for 4 months at once the unit price is less than the ②, so it is recommended for the student who doesn’t have any difficulties in eating Korean food.

How to apply

Apply to the staff at the entrance of the cafeteria and use it from that day

Types It is possible to select from four types depending on the inclusion of breakfast and weekends.

Remarks

- It is not suitable for the students who do not eat regularly for it is non refundable after applying.

- The entrance methods are different for each building.

(Use the key card received on the entry day for the BTL Dormitory, use the fingerprint scan for the cafeteria in front of Yulgok Kwan)

How to pay

- It is the same with the dormitory maintenance fee payment method and payable only in the specified period.

- Select the desired option from the ‘four meal types’

on the printed bill and make the payment.

Advice

- After arriving in Korea, buy the meal ticket for 2~3 days and see if the Korean food is edible.

- Referring to the final class schedule on the first week of the beginning of the semester, check if the meal time does not overlap with the class hours.

- Purchase the meal ticket (3,700 won) from a vending machine in front of the cafeteria

7. New International Student Orientation

Every student must attend the ‘orientation’ to get information on campus living.

8. Korean Language Course - Level Test

Department of Korean Language and Literature Korean Class (Credit)

- It is a credit and regular Korean class hosted by the Department of Korean Language and Literature.

- Check the university ENG/CHN websites for the exact level test time and place - Level Test: March 3^rd(Thu) 4pm, March 4^th(Fri) 4pm

(Class starts from the second week after the beginning of the semester.) - Eligibility: All international students

Baeckryung Volunteer Group’s Korean Language Class Korean Class (No credit)

- Level Test: Print the confirmed class schedule and visit the Office of International Affairs 4^thfloor on March 4^th(Fri) 10am~11:30am

(Class starts from the second week after the beginning of the semester.)

- As it is a free class supported by the volunteer group, apply when you can attend earnestly over 80% of the class hours.

9. Insurance

Every international student studying in Korea must have insurance. It is not an option but required and please be advised that the student who does not have insurance will be canceled from the university registration.

10. Network Environment

The internet in Korea is very fast. You may use the wired computer at the computer rooms in the dormitory, library or college building. And the free Wi-Fi is available in the dormitory or campus class rooms.

1. 한국 도착 후 춘천에 가는 방법

인천 국제공항에서 춘천으로 가는 리무진 버스가 이용 가능하며 여객터미널 1층(도착층) 의 버스매표소(외부9C)에서 춘천행 리무진 버스의 승차권을 구입할 수 있습니다.

3. 외국인등록증(카드) 발급순서

한국 도착 90일 이내에 외국인등록 신청을 해야 합니다. 원래 개인적으로 신청서류를 준 비하여 출입국사무소에 방문 신청해야 하지만, 학기 초 신입생을 위해 출입국사무소에 방문할 수 있도록 학교 차량을 지원합니다.

개강 첫 주, 국제교류본부 사무실에 제출해야 할 서류를 꼭 준비해주세요.

★ 16개 국가 학생 – 춘천시보건소 ‘결핵검사’

내용

결핵 확산을 방지하기 위하여, 2015년부터 결핵검진이 의무화 되었습니다.

‘결핵 고위험 국가 중 발생률이 높은 16개 국가’에서 온 학생들은 반드시

‘지역 보건소’에서 검진 받은 결과서가 필요합니다. 이 서류는 출입국관리사 무소에서 요구하는 필수 서류이기 때문에 해당 국가 학생은 반드시 검진 받 아야 합니다.

근거법령 출입국관리법 제46조 제1항 제3호

: 감염병 환자는 강제 퇴거할 수 있도록 규정

해당국가 16개 중국, 스리랑카, 러시아(연방), 우즈베키스탄, 태국, 베트남, 인도, 네팔, 인도 네시아, 파키스탄, 몽골, 방글라데시, 필리핀, 미얀마, 캄보디아, 말레이시아 제출 - 외국인등록증 신청을 위해서, 국제교류본부 사무실 제출

- 단체생활을 위해, 기숙사 행정실에 제출

방법 춘천시보건소에 방문하여 검진 → 검진결과서 찾으러 가기 → 제출

- 운영시간: 평일 08:30~17:00 (점심시간 12:00~13:00 제외) - 소요비용: 12,000원 (검사 및 검진결과서 2장 발급)

1) 기숙사 관리비 납부

※ 금지사항(벌점부과)

- 건물 내 흡연, 취사행위, 음주 - 통금시간 (새벽1시~새벽5시) 출입 - 입사점검 불참

- 룸메이트가 아닌 친구를 방에서 재워줄 경우

- 남학생이 여학생 기숙사에, 여학생이 남학생 기숙사에 들어가는 경우 ※ 늦은 밤에는 큰 소리로 떠들거나, 복도에서 친구와의 대화를 자제해주세요.

※ 벌점이 8점 이상일 경우 퇴사해야하므로, 반드시 기숙사 입구 게시판에서 전체 생 활규정을 확인하세요.

4) 단체생활을 위한 결핵검사 결과(진단서) 제출

- 기숙사에 거주하는 모든 학생은, 개강일로부터 3개월 이내에 검진 받은 결핵사 진단 서를 기숙사에 제출해야 합니다.

- 흉부X-ray 사진을 가져오는 것이 아니라, 결핵검사 결과가 ‘정상’임을 확인할 수 있 는 A4용지 1장을 제출해주세요. 반드시 영어로 설명이 되어있어야 하며, 영어가 아닌 모 국어로 된 것은 기숙사에 제출할 수 없습니다.

- 춘천시 보건소에서 검진 받아야 하는 16개 국가 학생들은, 한국에 도착하여 검진 받 고 2장을 발급받아 기숙사에 1장 제출하면 됩니다.

6. 식당 이용방법

한 학기 식비를 한 번에 납부하고, [기숙사 식당]이용

4개월 식비를 한 번에 지불하는 것이 부담될 수 있지만, 방법② 보다 단가가 저렴하기 때문에 한국음식을 먹는데 큰 어려움이 없는 학생에게 추천

선택종류 아침 포함여부, 주말 포함여부 등에 따라 4가지 종류 중에서 선택 가능

유의사항

- 신청 후에는 취소, 환불이 불가능하기 때문에 규칙적으로 식사하기 어려운 학생은 부적합

首先，祝贺大家成为江原大学（春川校区）的交换学生。

1. 单独前往春川的方法

未能使用接送服务的学生，可以在仁川机场9C区域搭乘巴士，前往春川巴士客运站。

内容

为防止结合扩散，自2015年起将结合检查义务化。从“结核高危险国家中发病率最高的16个国家”来韩的学生必须提交“地方保健所”的检查报告。此材料还是出入境管理事务所要求的必备材料，因此相应国家的学生必须接受检查。

3）宿舍检查（点名）

- 韩国宿舍有宿舍检查（点名）的文化。因为宿舍是团体生活的空间，从而借此机会检查学生的生活是否遇到问题。

每月第一个星期一晚上11点，在宿舍走廊进行。

宿舍志愿者奖学金生传达重要通知事项后，进到房间（约1分钟）检查宿舍卫生和是否使用禁止使用物品（电热水壶，冰箱，电褥子等）。

- 本学期第一次宿舍检查时3月7日（周一），因此住宿生必须要在11点以前回寝。

4）提交团体生活所需的结核检查报告（诊断书）

- 住宿生必须在开学日起3个月内向宿舍提交结合诊断书。

- 不是提交胸部X-ray照片，而是提交证明结核检查结果为“正常”的1张A4纸。

同时，必须提交英文说明，不能向宿舍提交用母语说明的诊断书。

- 必须在春川市保健所接受检查的16个国家学生，须在抵达韩国后进行检查，并将2份检

6. 食堂使用方法

一次性缴纳一个学期的伙食费后，使用

特点虽然一次性支付4个月的伙食费，负担有些重，但是要比方

法②的成本低，强烈推荐给喜欢吃韩餐的学生。

申请方法向食堂入口的员工申请，并从申请之日起开始用餐。

选择类型可在是否包含早餐和周末餐等4类选项中自由选择。

注意事项

- 申请后不能取消和退款，因此不适合用餐不规律的学生。

- 每个建筑物的出入方法都不同。

（BTL宿舍使用入住日发放的钥匙卡，栗谷馆前的食堂则采用指纹认证方法）

- 缴纳方法与宿舍管理费缴纳方法相同，只能在规定的时间内缴纳。

- 志愿团开设免费韩国语教室，因此只有出席率超过80%的诚实学生才能申请。

国语国文学系韩国语课程

（认证学分）

- 国语国文学系承办的韩国语课程，是认证学分的正规课程。

- 水平测试：3月3日(周四）下午4点,3月4日(周五）下午4点, 开学后7天内（从开学第二周开始上课）

- 对象：全体留学（非交换学生的义务选项）

9. 投保

在韩国学习的所有留学生，必须在滞留期间购买保险。

这不是选择事项，而是义务事项，没有投保的学生可能被取消入学资格，请学生留意。
