Notice Regarding Increased Number of K-ETA Applications
1. Ministry of Justice informed via official letter on March 25, 2022 that applicants need to apply for K-ETA at least 72 hours prior to issuing the boarding pass. However, due to an unexpected increase of applications, the result may not be notified within 72 hours. Therefore, please apply for the K-ETA in advance.
※ Because of COVID-19, the assessment of K-ETA may be strengthened. Therefore, it is recommended to apply for K-ETA closer to the expected arrival date (1-2 months prior to expected date of entry) rather than applying several months in advance.
2. In addition to the delay in assessment, the response to the inquiries is also being delayed. We apologize for the inconvenience. K-ETA center will do our best to normalize the situation.
<NOTICE>
The assessment time for K-ETA is currently being delayed due to applicants who are making multiple applications for K-ETA.
In order to prevent unfavorable circumstances to other applicants caused by this delay, applications for K-ETA of more than 3 times in the last 6 months will be blocked.
(The system will apply this policy from 11AM, July 12, 2022)
If you applied for your K-ETA 3 times within 6 months, the re-application can be done after 6 months from the date of the first application was submitted.
※ (Example) If your first K-ETA application was submitted on April 1, 2022 and you have applied 3 times until September 30, 2022, you can re-apply for K-ETA from October 1, 2022 onward.
However, in case you made a simple mistake on your application, such as a personal information typo, this will not count as valid for blocking your application.
Kindly be informed of the above, and be careful not to be at disadvantage.
Should you wish to enter Korea during the period of your K-ETA application blocking, please visit the Korean embassy (consulate) of your residence and apply for a visa.
