The NCFH press-fit modules Type 2151B... are installed in a robust aluminium housing. Inside the housing the displace - ment sensor is integrated as absolute encoder and one piezo- electictension/compression force sensor and charge amplifier.

The compressive or tensile forces that impact the sensor create a proportional electrical charge in the piezoelectric measuring element, which is transformed into an analogue voltage signal by the integrated electronic equipment.

The drive motor is an electrically commutated AC servo hollow shaft motor which is supplied and controlled on a servo con- troller. Constant speed, thus constant drive speed is ensured.

Standard functions like block pressing, position pressing and force feedback controlled pressing as well as intermediate po- sitioning are supported. A press-fit system consists of the NCFH press-fit module Type 2151B..., the evaluation system DMF-P A300 NCF Type 4734A… and the servo controller IndraDrive (Fig. 2, functioning principle).

The operation range of the threaded spindle drive is con- trolled by the servo electronics. Sensor signal conditioning is performed by our evaluation system DMF-P A300 NCF Type 4734A... . This device is an extremely efficient and compact instrument which displays the force-displacement measurement graphically and evaluates continuously all phases of a process by means of programmable tolerance windows.

Profibus interface and an Ethernet connection for the output of QA data (I-P.M. or Q-DAS format) are standard for the DMF-P A300 NCF Type 4734A... . Positions and joining para- meters may be edited menu-driven in the device unit.

Application

The NCFH press module Type 2151B... is excellent for the use as linear actuator for assembly and joining tasks in automatic production plants.

Vertical as well as horizontal installation is possible. Fixing of press units at a machine rack is performed by wall or flange assembly. A tool fitting may be installed on the tappet (please refer to picture 2 and 3).
