q EU 집행위는 Horizon2020 사업의 마지막 계획년도인 2020년도 예산으로 총 131.8억 유로(전년 대비 6.4% 증액)를 제안함
ㅇ 유럽연구위원회(ERC) 21.7억 유로(10.2% 증), 산업리더십 분야 첨단기술*
16.9억 유로(13.0% 증), 식량·바이오경제 6.1억 유로(31.4% 증) 등
* ICT(5G, AI 등), 나노소재(배터리), 제조혁신, 바이오, 우주(위성항법, 지구관측) 등

2 2020년 예산안 특징
q 2021년 설립 예정인 유럽혁신위원회(EIC) 시범사업을 2019-2020년(2년간) 총 23억 유로를 투입하여 EIC 설립 전에 우선 추진
* 유럽혁신위원회(EIC: European Innovation Council)는 혁신적 기업의 기술 scale-up 등을 지원하기 위해 설립되며, 차기 EU 연구사업인 호라이즌 유럽(Horizon Europe)을 통해 2021년부터 7년간 약 105억 유로를 투입할 계획
ㅇ EU 이사회는 혁신적 기업이 글로벌 시장 진출을 지원하기 위한 사업을 조속히 추진할 것을 결정한 바 있음(2018년 6월)
“We need a stronger, inclusive innovation ecosystem to foster breakthrough and market-creating innovation and provide comprehensive support for businesses including SMEs, with disruptive potential to successfully enter global markets.”(EU 이사회 결정문, 2018.6)

* 안보연합: EU 이사회는 2017년 6월 빈발하는 테러, 사이버 공격, 극단적 협오주의와 폭력에 EU 차원의 대응을 결정(ICT기술을 활용한 테러 정보의 공유체계, 사이버 보안기술 등)
