Objectives
Allelophathy defined as harmful substance secreted from the organs of plant on another plant has mainly been researched in botanical aspect. The ecological weed control method by the crop cultivar having weeding activity of weed control methods with this phenomenon has been evaluated as more decrease of labor power and more safety and affinity for environment within the ecosystem than already used method.
The objective of this study is to screen and select rice cultivar showing strong herbicidal activity by seed germination test.
Materials and Methods ○ Materials
Extract samples were leaves of wild species for rice. Target seeds were radish seeds.
○ Methods
1)Seed germination test
5g of ground rice leaves soaked in 100mL pure methanol during two days on ordinary temperature then filtering the extract solution and determination of pH. Next step was spread two Whatman filterpapers(No.42) on petri-dish(9cm) and putting 50 radish seeds and add 10mL of extract solution on petri-dish (Control : add 10mL of distilled water) then 25℃, dark condition for 4 days.
Measured value were Germination inhibition(%), total dry weight inhibition (mg) and radicle inhibition(cm).
2)Statistical analysis
All seed germination test were repeated three times and statistical analysis of data were performed by General linear model of SAS program.

Germination inhibition(%) is showed that herbicidal active handling group suppress the germination of radish seeds than control in Table 1. Especially, germination inhibition of day1 is a big difference. And radicle length of the handling group is shorter than control. We visual observed difference of hervicaidal activity with control in figure 1.
In conclusion, this study is considered extract soultion is affect seed germination inhibition and radicle growth inhibition.
