파란 하늘에는 하얀 뭉게구름이 가을의 정취를 더하고 있고 들녘에는 풍요로움이 넘치는 수확의
계절입니다. 이 아름다운 계절에 독일과 일본의 식품안전 전문가들이 함께하는 한국보건사회
연구원의 국제심포지엄에 여러분을 초대하게 된 것을 진심으로 기쁘게 생각합니다.
한국보건사회연구원은 국책연구기관으로서 보건의료, 사회보장, 사회정책 등 보건복지 전 분야에
걸친 연구를 통하여 삶의 질 향상을 위한 정책개발에 기여하고 있으며, “보건사회 기후변화 모니터
링센터 운영”이라는 큰 연구주제 하에 기후변화 대응 식품안전관리 연구도 수행하고 있습니다.
기후변화로 야기될 수 있는 식품안전상의 위험은 식량안보와 식품안전으로 구분될 수 있습니다. 본
심포지엄에서는 “Climate changes ? What consequences for food safety ? - from the
perspective of consumer protection -”라는 주제 하에 기후변화로 야기될 수 있는 식품안전상
의 문제점과 생산자와 소비자 모두에게 안전한 식품을 공급하기 위한 대응 정책에 대한 국내·
외 전문가들의 발표가 있을 예정입니다.
모쪼록 결실 가득한 계절에 국내외 전문가들이 한자리에 모여 기후변화의 위험에 대응할 수 있는
선도적인 식품안전관리를 위한 지혜를 모으는 자리가 되길 진심으로 바라며 여러분의 많은
관심과 참여를 부탁드립니다.

The sky in October is bluer with the fleecy white clouds gliding across it and the spirit
of harvest thick in the air, accentuating the presence of autumn.
It gives me great pleasure to invite you in this beautiful season to the international
symposium on “Climate Changes? What Consequences for Food Safety? From the
Perspective of Consumer Protection,” which, organized by the Korea Institute for
Health and Social Affairs, will bring together an outstanding group of food safety
experts from home and abroad.
KIHASA as a national think tank has contributed for decades to policy research on
health care and social security, and the symposium is part of its commitment to the
project on the Monitoring of the Impacts of Climate Change on Human Health and
Welfare.
The food risks associated with climate change pertain closely to food security and
food safety. The presentations and discussion will center on food safety issues stemming
from climate change and on what policy measures can and should be taken to ensure
that both producers and consumers are provided with safe foods.
I sincerely hope that in this season of gainful harvest, you join us at the symposium
and come away having gained some good insights into how forward-looking food
safety management should look like in times of climate change.
