안녕하십니까.

대통령직속 녹색성장위원회, 국제연합(UN) 및 경제 인문사회연구회는 2009년 9월 9일에‘녹색성장과 협력’을 주제로d그린코 리아 2009e국제회의를 공동으로 개최하고자 합니다.

온실가스 배출 증가로 인한 지구온난화와 에너지자원의 고갈이라는 위기에 봉착하여 전세계 많은 국가는 새로운 성장전략을 모색하고 있으며, 한국도 1년전‘저탄소 녹색성장’을 향후 핵심적인 정책기조로 설정하였습니다. 특히 한국정부는 기후변화와 에너지자원 고갈에 대한 소극적인 대응을 뛰어 넘어, 녹색성장전략을 통하여 새로운 시장과 일자리를 창출하고, 이를 바탕으로 지속가능한 성장을 뒷받침하는 새로운 성장동력의 원천을 찾고자 노력하고 있습니다. 지난 7월에 발표된d녹색성장 국가전략 및 5개년계획e은 이러한 노력의 구체적인 출발점이라고 할 수 있습니다.

이번 국제회의에서는 녹색성장을 위한 정부와 산업계의 협력을 중심테마로 설정하였으며, 이를 위하여 녹색성장을 위한 에너지 정책, 환경산업, 제조업과 ICT의 역할, 국토 교통전략, 법제전략, R&D 추진전략, 농업부문 추진전략, 해양산업 발전전략 등에 대해 세계적인 석학, 지도자 및 산업계 전문가들의 비전과 정책제언을 공유하고자 합니다.

바쁘시더라도 부디 참석하시어 귀하의 고견을 나누어 주시고, 이를 바탕으로 이번 국제회의가 녹색성장을 향한 전세계와 한국의 노력에 밑거름이 될 수 있도록 많은 도움을 부탁드립니다.

그린코리아 2009의 엠블렘은 한번 순이 나와 성장하기 시작하면 하루에 수십 센티씩 자라기도 하는 대나무의 모습을 빗대어, 빠르게 도약하는 녹색성장사업의 미래가치를 보여주고 있습니다. 또한 어린 죽순부터 잎에 이르기까지 인간과 자연에게 모두 이로운 환경을 제공하는 대나무는 삶을 더 풍요롭게, 윤택하게 만드는 상징적 의미를 가지고 있습니다.

계단식 상승곡선 형태를 띤 Green(그린)의 스펠링은 단계별로 성장하는 녹색산업의 밝은 미래를 희망의 스마일로 표현하고 있습 니다. 에너지 생성을 의미하는 주황과 희망을 뜻하는 파랑을 조화시킨 색상배열은 저탄소 녹색성장의 선도국가로서 활기차고 희망 가득한 대한민국을 만들고자 하는 그린코리아 2009의 마음을 담고 있습니다.

Overview of Green Korea 2009

The emblem of GREEN KOREA 2009 visualizes the fast growth process of bamboo, symbolizing the bright future of green growth industry which is now on the take-off stage. From shoots to leaves, bamboo provides benefits to both human life and nature, and, for this reason, has been used as a symbol of abundance and benefit.

The emblem, in which the letters are terraced in a rising curve, forming the image of a smile of hope, expresses the bright future of green growth. The colors used in the emblem signify the goal of GREEN KOREA 2009 that Korea will become a dynamic and hopeful leading nation for low-carbon green growth.

Greetings!

It is a great pleasure to launch an international conference, Green Korea 2009, on September 9th, 2009, co-organized by the Presidential Committee on Green Growth (PCGG), the United Nations (UN), and the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences (NRCS).

Confronted with global warming caused by increasing emission of greenhouse gases and with the depletion of energy resources, a growing number of countries around the world have been exploring new growth strategies. As such, starting last year Korea has set ‘low-carbon green growth’ as the key growth strategy: The Korean government is trying to go beyond ‘passive’ adjustment to climate change and depletion of energy resources, to create new markets and new jobs through green growth strategy, and, based on these efforts, to explore the sources of new growth engines which will facilitate sustainable development. The “Green Growth National Strategy and Five-Year Plan,” announced in July this year, is only the beginning of Korean government’s efforts.

Cooperation between government and industry is the main theme of the Conference. International dignitaries, distinguished scholars and industry leaders will share their visions and policy recommendations on various issues including energy policy, environmental industry, role of manufacturing and ICT, land-use and transportation policy, legislative issues, R&D strategy, agricultural and maritime policy, etc.

You are cordially invited to Green Korea 2009, and we earnestly ask you to share your expertise and advice so that the Conference will become a solid stepping stone for efforts by the international community and Korea toward green growth.
