CSI for February 11

< SUMMARY >

□ T he composite consumer sentiment index (CCSI) for February 2011 was 105. Although the index declined by 3 points from January 2011, it continues to exceed the benchmark of 100, a trend begun since the 105 recorded for May 2009.

― Consumer sentiment on living standards dropped by 1 point (90→89) and that on prospective living standards also

dropped by 2 points (98→96).

― Consumer sentiment on current domestic economic conditions fell by 6 points (88→82) and that on their future prospects by 3 points (97→94).

― Consumer sentiment on prospective change in total household income (103→100) and on spending decisions (114→112) fell by 3 points and 2 points, respectively.

□ Consumer sentiment on prospective price movements fell by 5 points from the previous month (153→148), while expected inflation remained unchanged at 3.7%

※ 2,200 households in 56 cities nationwide surveyed from February 11 to 18, 2011, among which 2,071 responded.
