He/she is also the manager of two subprogrammes on “Support to radioisotope products for medical and industrial applications” and “Radiation technology for material development and analysis and pollutant treatment” within the “Radioisotope Production and Radiation Technology” programme, which is part of the IAEA's Major Programme 2 on

As a key member of a team led by the Section Head, Effectiveness Evaluation Section, the Safeguards Specialist coordinates and checks the work of several Safeguards Evaluators who evaluate safeguards implementation at the facility and State level. The incumbent provides summary results of this evaluation for inclusion in the Safeguards Implementation Report (SIR), participates in efforts to improve the effectiveness of safeguards, through analysis of reasons for failure to attain the inspection goal at both the facility and State levels, and provides advice and training. He/she also develops and implements a methodology for the evaluation of integrated safeguards.
