PRESS STATEMENT BY

MINISTER IN THE PRIME MINISTER’S OFFICE AND MINISTER OF FINANCE AND ECONOMY II AS CO-CHAIRMAN OF THE STEERING

COMMITTEE ON BORDER CROSSING AFFAIRS

In conjunction with the titah of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu`izzaddin

Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar `Ali Saifuddien Sa`adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Prime Minister's Department is pleased inform some of the following:

1. Foreign nationals entering the country through land control posts are required to undergo a SARS-COV2 RT-PCR laboratory test before entering the country. A copy of the test results must be submitted to the Immigration and National Registration Department at the entry control post. Negative test results can be used within seven (7) days from the date of testing. This condition applies to every entry of foreign nationals including transit passengers and drivers as well as passengers of commercial vehicle (Transport Operators).

2. The Ministry of Health will also conduct random SARS-COV2 screening tests among drivers and passengers of commercial vehicles (Transport Operators) from abroad who enter the country through random land control posts.

3. Admission for commercial vehicles from abroad guaranteed by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism through land control postposts is limited to three times a week only, ie every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
