INVITATION FOR BIDS (IFB)

1 This Specific Procurement Notice (SPN) follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in the UN Development Business No... of04/03/2008

2. The Government of Ghana has received a loan from the African Development Fund (ADF) and International Fund for Agricultural Development towards the cost of implementing the Northern Rural Growth Programme (NRGP), in the amount of UA40 million (USD 62 million), and intends to apply part of the funds to cover the eligible payments under the Contract for the Civil works as shown below. To be qualified for the award of Contract, the successful bidder shall be registered with the Ministry of Roads and Highways with a minimum Financial Class ofA3B3.

3. The Northern Rural Growth Programme (NRGP) of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, (MOFA), invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Irrigation works listed in the table below.

5. A complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon

6. The Bank's Standard Bidding Document for Procurement of Works, appropriate to the bid, shall be used.

7. Bids shall be valid for a period of 120 days after the date of Bid Opening and must be accompanied by a security FROM REPUTABLE COMMERCIAL BANK in amount indicated in the table above or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency.

8. Bid security shall be valid for 28 days beyond the bid validity period.

9. Bids must be delivered to the Conference Room ofthe Ministry of Food and Agriculture Information Resource Centre, Accra in the vicinity of Agrow Chemicals and the Greater-Accra Regional MoFA Officeson or before 10:00 am on Monday 7th July 2014 and must be accompanied by a bid security as stated above.

10. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend, at 10.00 hrs. GMT on Monday 7th July 2014at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture Information Resource Centre, Accra in the vicinity of Agrow Chemicals and the Greater-Accra Regional MoFA Offices.

11 . There will be Pre Bid Meeting at 10: 30 am on Friday 20thJune 2014 at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture Information Resource Centre, Accra in the vicinity of Agrow Chemicals and the Greater-Accra Regional MoFA Offices.

12. Bidders who have been awarded the irrigations in Ashanti & Brong Ahafo ; Western; Gerater Accra, Central and Volta are not eligible to bid.

13. Bidders shall not be awarded more than one lot. Bidders who purchase more than one lot must indicate their preference.
