Asian Renewable Energy Hub Hydrogen Potential

The cheapest and safest source of large scale green hydrogen in Asia

 Over 40TWh/year of renewable energy at <USD3cents/kWh (<AUD 4cents/kWh) on the Pilbara coast of northern Western Australia;

 Up to 7GW of capacity available, operating at 70% capacity factor (supplied by 7.5GW wind turbines and 3.5GW solar arrays with complementary generation profiles);

 Can be built in phases to match market demand and create a sustainable equipment supply chain;

 Total site area of 14,000km2

 100-year lease of initial 7,000km2 area, providing long term certainty and energy security;

 Proximity to the coast and a suitable industrial park for large scale green hydrogen production and export; and

 Possibility to grow the generation capacity to 15GW, will an output of up to 55TWh/year.

Shovel ready as soon as 2020

 4 years of project development already completed;

 3 years of onsite wind and solar data already collected for resource confidence;

 Environmental and planning referral submitted in November 2017, approval permits expected in November 2019;

 Major Project Status granted by WA Government in July 2018; and

 Indigenous Land Use Agreement expected to be signed in 2019.

Word class investment consortium

 InterContinental Energy: global developer of large scale RE hubs;

 CWP Renewables: leading Australian RE developer creating other large wind/solar hybrid projects including Sapphire RE Hub;

 Macquarie: major Australian / global financial institution; and

 Vestas: world leading wind energy company.
