for Overseas Koreans Recruitment Guide

The National Institute for International Education (NIIED) is a division of the Ministry of Education in Korea established for the exchange and cooperation of international education. This government agency plans the Homeland Education Program for Overseas Koreans and selects, manages, and assesses the program participants.

Kongju National University has established and operated the Institution of Korean Culture & Education for the specialization of education overseas Korean as a professional secondary teacher training institution and operates and manages (class and student) the Homeland Education Program for Overseas Koreans.

Homeland Education Program for Overseas Koreans.

'The Homeland Education Program for Overseas Koreans' is an educational program specially designed for overseas Koreans only. It is comprised of diverse special programs such as field trip, exchange with the locals and college students, club activities, and classes regarding Korean language, culture, and history. Accomplishing

90

% or higher in satisfaction through support from the formation of a global network for overseas Koreans and career guidance, the program is the nation's only long-term education program for overseas Koreans.

To train the practical Korean language profi ciency needed for understanding the homeland, the ability to adapt to the future international society, and to foster the world citizens who will be active in international society by equipping students with wide knowledge as the Korean people through the mastery of Korean history & cultures

Dormitory and meals will be added a student plans to stay longer than the applied program

In case of the failure to complete the relative course due to the circumstances such as abandonment of admission, and withdrawal from school, educational expenses are to be returned according to the internal guidelines for educational expenses return.

■ Admission Process

The application together with its following documents submitted by an overseas Korean resident are to be reviewed by overseas missions through which the same overseas missions recommends the relative applicant to NIIED.

The president of NIIED is to notify the list of the selected applicants among the applicants recommended by overseas missions to the president of Kongju National University and the recommending institution.

The president of Kongju National University is to transmit the permission of admission status of the selected applicants and invitation letters(or standard admission letter) to the relevant chief of overseas missions.

The president of Kongju National University is to provide the entrants to education program with services needed for practical admission, such as entry support & school registration and dormitory assignment, etc.

■ Admission & Registration - Entry

An entering student is to inform his/her entry schedule to the person in charge of admission at Kongju National University; on arrival in Incheon International Airport on the day of entry, the student is to be guided by a school employee receiving a visitor to enter the dormitory after registering at the place of school registry.

If a student fails to meet a school employee who comes for meeting, the relevant student is required to contact Kongju National University.

The day of entry is to be limited to the period of registration, so in case of advance entry, the relevant student is required to defi nitely inform the fact to the person in charge of admission of Kongju National University.

■ Completion

A certifi cate of completion issued under the joint name of the president of NIIED affi liated with the

Ministry of Education and the president of Kongju National University will be issued to a student, who

completed a required course.
