해설

1 주어 The cat과 My father는 3인칭 단수이므로 is가 알맞다.

2 주어 He and I와 The boys는 복수이므로 are가 알맞다.

3 class’s로 되면 같은 자음 충돌이므로 줄임말이 불가능하다.

4 「일반명사 + are」는 줄임말이 안 된다.

5 be동사의 과거형은 축약이 불가능하다.

① My cat is → My cat’s

6 be동사의 과거형은 축약이 불가능하다.

④ There are → There’re

7 am not의 축약형은 구어상 ain’t라고도 하지만 표준 문법은 인정하지 않는다.
