PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES AGAINST NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (20 re-Ncov)

t.0 Introduction
On 306 January 2020, World Health Organization (WHO) had declared a Public Health Emergency of lnternational Concern (PHEIC), regarding the current outbreak of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in Mainland China and across the globe.
In response
to
the outbreakof
2019-nCoV, Government of the Maldives is implementing additional measures to further minimise the risk of import and community spread of 2019-nCoV in the Maldives.Purpose
The purpose
of this
Circular isto
advisethe
airlines andthe
relevant airport authorities on the measures taken by the Government of the Maldives relatingto
the entry of passengers arriving from Mainland Chinato
minimise the risk of spread of 20l9-nCoV in the Maldives.Requirement
Airlines and aircraft operating flights
to the
Maldives shall suspendthe
carriageof
passengersoriginating from and transiting through Mainland China with effect from 03'd February 2020.
Notwithstanding the above, the airlines or aircraft operators are permitted
to
carry;a)
Maldivian nationals originating from and transiting through Mainland Chinab)
passengers who are bookedto
returnto
cities in Mainland China from the Maldives ApplicabilityThe requirements in this Circular applies to all international airlines and aircraft operating to and from Maldives and relevant airpoft authorities in the Maldives.
Efrectivity
This Circular supersedes Air Transpoft Circular - AT 0112020 dated 306January2020, and will come into effect from 03'd February 2020. The Circular will remain inforce until rescinded or superseded.
