The Silk Road Shall Enhance Kuwait’s Commercial and Economic Role in the Region

A Chinese delegation has recently visited Kuwait to put into action the MOU inked between the two countries regarding the establishment and development of the Silk Road project, said Faisal Al-Medlej, the CEO of the Silk City Development System.

This project reflects the vision of “New Kuwait 2035”, which aim to transform Kuwait into an international financial, commercial and cultural hub, he added.

The delegation has 35 high ranking people in the Chinese government, presided by Ning Jizhe, the vice chairman of the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission,

A helicopter tour on Kuwait’s islands of Boubyan, Filaka and Warba as well as part of Subiya was launched from Abdullah Al-Mubarak Airbase to view the location of the Silk City and Mubarak Port, he said.

The purpose of the air tour was to form an integrated conceptualization of the project, he added.

Stateless “Bedoun” Issue to be Settled

After identifying 90% of the original citizenships of stateless people in Kuwait, final solutions shall be filed to the political leadership to be finally settled, sources told Al-Qabas newspaper.

Original citizenship of stateless people was demonstrated via father, grandfather, brother, and uncle and they all acknowledge it. Their original citizenships are typed in their IDs, which are similar to the Civil IDs.

Kuwait shall make a comprehensive settlement of stateless people issue. Kuwaiti citizenship shall be granted to thousands of them, who are worth. Meanwhile claims of many of them, who hided their original passports to seize an opportunity for having Kuwaiti citizenship shall be defied.

Those who are proven to have other citizenships shall not be considered as stateless according to Kuwaiti laws. In addition, those who intentionally hide their citizenships shall be considered as illegal residents and shall be criminalized by Kuwaiti and international laws.

Kuwait Gas Production to Reach 27.3 Billion Cubic Meters in 2035 Dr. Khaled Mahdi, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development said that it is important to support the policy of national energy, diversification of production and participation with 15% of electric energy mix by 2030.

He further indicated that natural gas production shall be increased from 17.4 billion cubic meters in 2017 to 27.3 billion cubic meters in 2035.

Kuwait, Malaysia Discuss Trade, Investment Cooperation – Amb.

Kuwaiti Ambassador to Malaysia Saad Al-Asousi and Malaysia’s Ministry of Entrepreneur Development discussed cooperation in investment and trade, especially in wood and food items exports to Kuwait, said a statement.

In a statement to KUNA on Sunday, Al-Asousi said that he was briefed on the industries and products produced by the Terengganu state during his visit.

He added that he met with the ministry’s senior officials and discussed the export of more Malaysian products to the Kuwaiti market.

They also discussed organizing a visit by members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia and boosting cooperation between the two country’s businessmen, the ambassador said.

Kuwait Firmly Against Normalization with Israel – Deputy FM Deputy Foreign Minister, Khaled Al-Jarallah affirmed Sunday Kuwait remains firmly against normalization of relations with Israel, as long as there is no justice and a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.

In a statement to reporters, after participating in a Flag Day ceremony at the Canadian Embassy, Al-Jarallah added “it is painful that there is still doubt regarding the Kuwaiti position on the Palestinian issue, stressing that Kuwait’s position has not changed and continues to be supportive of the Palestinian cause at all levels.

He pointed out that Kuwait is a member of the UN Security Council, and therefore it is unreasonable not to participate in international conferences, stressing that Kuwait went to protect the rights of the Palestinian people and discuss issues of concern in the region.

Al-Jarallah pointed out that there are many issues addressed at Warsaw Summit affecting the Middle East and therefore it is logical to interact and participate in such conferences.

Brotherly and Historical Relations between Kingdom of Bahrain and Kuwait: Bahrain Prime Minister

Bahrain Prime Minister, Amir Khalifa Ben Salman Al-Khalifa lauded the brotherly and historical relations between Kuwait and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Ben Salman said that Bahrain shares Kuwait its celebrations of the National Days.

This meeting is part of the openness and transparency policy adopted by CARIRS in dealing with international organizations.

Al-Fadalah provided a visual presentation with figures and statistics about the services provided by CARIRS to the category of illegal residents.

He further said that Kuwait keen on ensuring free education and health care for this category of illegal residents irrespective of their legal positions.

Top Kuwaiti Speaker Decries Bid to Belittle Stance on Palestine Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker, Marzouq Al-Ghanim said on Sunday Kuwait rejects any bid to underestimate its historical and principled position on the Palestinian issue.

Speaking to reporters at Parliament, Al-Ghanim reiterated Kuwait’s support for the Palestinian people and rejection of the Zionist occupation and its practices as a clear, principled and historical stand.

He added that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al- Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah would be invited to attend a parliamentary meeting soon to weigh political situation and Warsaw conference outcomes.

Kuwaiti Military Officers Stress Importance of IDEX, NAVDEX Kuwaiti Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Mohammad Al-Khodhr and Undersecretary of Kuwait National Guard Lieutenant General Hashem Al-Rifai stressed importance of IDEX and NAVDEX exhibitions in displaying latest military technologies.

The two ranking officers made their remarks to KUNA Sunday on the sidelines of the 14th session of the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) and the fifth session of the naval defense and maritime security exhibition (NAVDEX) in Abu Dhabi, UAE's capital.

Al-Khodhr praised the opening ceremony of the exhibitions, underlining the importance of these events for marketing various military equipment.

Cooperation between Kuwait and Malaysia

Saad Al-Asousi, Kuwait’s Ambassador to Malaysia discussed with officials of the Ministry of Development of Malaysian Business Leadership the possibility of exporting wood to Kuwait.

Al-Asousi said that he discussed with senior officials at the ministry means of cooperation in the investment and commerce fields, especially wood and foodstuff.

This came upon his participation in an international conference held in Tringano state in Malaysia yesterday.
