Job Description:

Prepares Structural detailed drawings both steel and concrete structures. Prepared preliminary plans, elevations, sections & details using Microstation J. Creates steel and concrete 3D models using Frameworks Plus v7.1 or Tekla Structures ( X-steel ) and checks any piping or electrical clashing using Smart Plant Review or Navisworks Roamer. Prepares material take-off, estimates and work involves civil drawings. Coordinates with other affected disciplines to some changes or design revision by the engineers and with the vendor data supplied. Design of concrete and steel structures using Staad Pro software.

Project Involvement:

Brunei Methanol Project – Sg. Liang Industrial Park, Brunei Darussalam (April to November 2007):

Civil/Structural Designer. Modeled the plant structures and pipe racks using Tekla Structures (X-steel) then exporting them to PDS using the Frameworks Plus model.

Prepared a preliminary design of pipe racks using Staad Pro software for approval of the client during engineering stage. Prepared material quantity estimates of concrete and steel bidding. Prepared detailed drawing layouts of civil and structural works using AutoCAD software which includes also revision of drawings and as-built drawings.

Sohar Fertilizer Project – Sohar, Oman (February to March 2006):

Civil Engineer. Prepared drawings to be issued for construction at site. Prepared material quantity estimates for final issue of the company for its progress billing as construction of the project went on.

AR-RAZI Plant 5 Methanol Project – Jubail Industrial Park, Saudi Arabia (July to September 2005):

Junior Civil Engineer. Prepared standard drawings to be used for engineering of the projects. Assists Senior Engineers in the design of standard connections for steel structures. Prepared material quantity estimates for concrete and steel structures as well.

Singapore Parallel Train (Exxon Mobil Chemicals – Asia Pacific) – Jurong Island, Singapore

(December 2007 to present):

Civil/Structural Designer / 3D Coordinator. Work involved are checking of structural and concrete drawings, such as pipe racks, miscellaneous pipe and electrical support steel and foundations, platforms, and walkways. Preparation of Structure and pipe rack models by importing Staad file to X-steel model. Checking of design drawings that includes items for civil works. Preparation of 2D drawings according to the design data which will be issued for approval. Preparation of detailed drawings for civil works which will be sent to subcontracting company for modeling into PDS. Checking of the 3D model using Smart Plant Review and Navisworks Roamer if design drawings were followed and for possible clashing. Prepare revision layout for scope of Civil works that clashed through pipes and other items. Prepare reports for Project Keyperson regarding status of 3D model as per the subcontracting company’s progress. Design of structures and piperacks using Staad Pro software.

Sohar Fertilizer Project – Sohar, Oman (January to February 2006):

Civil Engineer. Prepared 2D drawings including final revisions to be made which will be sent to site for construction. Prepared final material quantity estimates for use to progress billing at site. Checking of design of piperacks and structures using Staad Pro software.

Civil Designer. Prepared steel structure model such as structures, piperacks, operation stages, platforms, etc. using PDS Frameworks Plus. Modeled equipment foundations, ductbanks, drainages, paving, water ditches, buildings, steel structure accessories such as gratings, checkered plate floor, handrails, staircases, etc. using PDS equipment modeling.

Prepared material quantity estimates for steel and concrete items. Prepared 2D drawings for new and revised layouts for issue of approval and construction. Prepared detailed standards of connections for steel as basis for design.

Civil Building Supervisor. Work involved as an in-charge for all buildings (substations, control building, operator’s rooms and generator house). Manage the subcontractor’s workforce for construction of all building. Inspected every details of construction if followed according to designed drawings. Monitored progress of construction as per schedule of turnover to other discipline. Checked all material proposal submitted by the subcontractor if it passed the approved specification as per clients request. Supervised all works including the structural and architectural matters of the buildings.
