Consumer Price Index: April 2017

□ The Consumer Price Index was 102.66(2015=100) in April 2017. The index decreased 0.1 percent from the preceding month and rose 1.9 percent from April 2016.

◦ The index excluding agricultural products and oils was 102.84 in April 2017.

The index increased 0.1 percent from the preceding month and rose 1.3 percent from April 2016.

◦ The index for Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, Communication, Recreation and culture, Education and Restaurants and hotels increased 0.2 percent, 0.1 percent, 0.6 percent, 1.3 percent, 0.1 percent and 0.2 percent respectively in April.

◦ The index for Food and non-alcoholic beverages, Clothing and footwear,

Furnishings, household equipment & routine maintenance, Health, Transport

and Miscellaneous goods and services decreased 0.8 percent, 0.9 percent,

0.5 percent, 0.3 percent, 0.5 percent and 0.3 percent respectively in April.
