KTC-AERO/4, /8, and /16
Memory Upgrade Modules for the Compaq
®Contura Aero 4/25 & 4/33C
Introduction:
Kingston Technology® manufactures three memory upgrade modules, KTC-AERO/4 (4MB), KTC-AERO/8 (8MB) and KTC-AERO/16 (16MB), for Compaq® Contura Aero 4/25 and 4/33C notebook computers.
Each system comes standard with 4MB of memory and can be expanded to a maximum of 20MB with the addition of a Kingston 16MB memory upgrade module and a Compaq® BIOS upgrade.
Installation Procedure:
1. Turn the power switch off and disconnect all external cables from the computer.
2. Remove the rechargeable battery pack from the computer.
3. Turn the computer bottom side up and locate the memory compartment cover.
4. Use a small screwdriver and carefully remove the memory compartment cover from the computer. The memory compartment cover may seem difficult to remove, but if you continue to pry it, will pop loose. To avoid doing any damage to electronic com- ponents, do not insert the screwdriver too far beneath the memory compartment panel.
5. Locate the memory connector on the system board. Align the connector on the memory module with the connector on the system board. Gently press the memory module into place. Note: The connector on the memory module is keyed for proper align- ment - it can only be inserted one way.
6. Replace the memory compartment cover and gently press down on it until it snaps into place.
7. Turn the computer right side up and replace the battery pack. Reconnect any exter- nal cables disconnected during the installation process.
8. Power up the computer and verify the newly installed memory is recognized by the system.
