“non-cooperation” disrupts appointing ministers

As the Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled is conducting consultations and meetings to form his new cabinet that aims to include strong and cohesive members, sources confirmed to Al-Seyassah that Al-Khaled is encountering crisis of “non-cooperation” that some opposing MPs are declaring. Some of those MPs were informed that they might be appointed as ministers in the new cabinet. He is also taking advantage of the subtle atmosphere resulted by the Amiri Decree and is paving the way to the national reconciliation.

Sources explained that MPs Hassan Jawhar and Muhannad Al-Sayer’s announcements unacceptance of Al-Khaled’s offer disrupted other MPs and made them hesitate although close persons tried to convince MPs to accept the offer, while non- cooperation justifications were abolished with issuance of Amnesty Decree and with the government resignation and discarding all grillings and interrogations that were directed to the Prime Minister and his ministers.

Strict health procedures for arrivals to Kuwait

In accordance with the Cabinet’s instructions during its irregular meeting yesterday, Kuwait International Airport transformed into a beehive. Authorities at the airport tightened health precautionary measures for all arrivals from all countries. In parallel with suspending commercial flights with 9 African countries, the airport, seaport and land ports witnessed new measures on both health and logistic sides in order to prevent any COVID-19 cases in general and Omicron cases in specific.

A health official considered keeping up with this improvement is the greatest challenge, noting that WHO confirmed that boarders closure is not the best solution to combat the new variant because precautionary measures are enough for the time being, especially in countries that have vaccinated around 80% of its citizens similar to Kuwait.

An official stressed that imposing strict measures on boarders is to prevent variants from spreading in Kuwait, and revealed that individuals started to receive the third booster shot in the past few days, which strengthens the herd immunity against virus variants.
