어제는 날씨가 좋고 잠잠한 날이어서 돛대에 올라 가는 것을 시도해 볼 때가 되었다고 나는 마음먹었 다. 주돛을 내리고, 주 전기 자동 항해 장치를 켜고, 헬멧을 쓰고 나는 올라갔다.

‘Ella’s Pink Lady’는 그리 큰 돛대를 가지고 있지 않았고 바다에는 별것이 없었지만 거기 올라가니 좋았다! 바다에서 그렇게 오랫동안 있은 다음에, 그 리고 거대한 파도에 부딪히기 이전에 꼭대기에서 주위를 둘러보는 것은 좋았다. 모든 게 완벽한 상태 로 보였다.

경치는 정말 훌륭했고 ‘Ella’s Pink Lady’가 항해 해 나가는 걸 다른 각도에서 보는 것 은 정말 멋졌 다. 내 입으로 말하자면, 정말 귀엽고 작은 보트이 다! 아래로 내려오는 게 가장 재미있는 부분이었는 데, 그 이유는 내가 부드럽게 타고 내려오는 것을 해낼 수 있었기 때문이다.
